I woke up with a lump in my throat and a pain in my chest. Thomas is gone.

Those were the words swirling through my mind like fog in a storm. Stone against stone caused me to jump, and I shuffled out of my hammock.

I snatched the hoodie and tucked the hood over my face. I slowly and steadily made my way out of the Deadheads. I saw Chuck and Newt waiting by the Door.

"See, told you. They're not coming back," Newt explained sadly.

I choked back a sob and limped forward, closer to the Door. I wiped my eyes with my wrist as I backed away.

Walking back to the Deadheads, all sounds around me were muffled. I didn't wanna do this anymore. Thomas was the one thing in this shucked-up place I actually cared about, and he was gone.

I made it back to my little home and took the hoodie off. I sat in my hoodie and sobbed silently when I felt someone touch my shoulder. I looked up and saw a sweaty, dirty, bruised, crying, but alive, Thomas.
