"For You."

"You said you were gonna be there so I thought you had taken care of everything before."

As I speak on the phone with Kevaun, disappointment is evident in my voice.

I really wanted us to do this one thing together and not make this maternity shoot just about me but as usual, he's busy and always has something to do.

Sometimes I think he prefers his work over me and I'm honestly tired of it.

"..yea mami but yuh know how it guh already. I'm sorry but I have to take care of this in person. I'll try and make it."

Annoyed, I hiss my teeth and hang up the phone before he could say anything else.

Really nuh in a the mood fi his excuses right now.

Like- don't get me wrong, I fully understand that he has work to do and he's gonna be very busy sometimes but since recently, we don't have no time at all for ourselves.

I even started to think he just doesn't want to be around me.

I always put effort and try and make it possible for us to be together but everytime he has other things to deal with.. then he makes promises, and can't keep them.

Fuck him.
I'll do my shoot alone.

Finishing the touch up of my makeup, two of the workers Kevaun asigned to me helps to get my outfit on.

This is the last set of pictures that I'm gonna take- the one's I wanted to do with him.
But mi deh pon mi own.

"..alright. This is it. You look amazing." The woman compliments and I show a pleasing smile.

I thank them as they lead me back to the space where I'll be doing my shoot. It takes a couple minutes for them to set up the background and we're now finally ready for the photo's to be taken.

Several poses and smiles later, I am seated on a chair with a milkshake and chips, picking the pictures that is to be printed.

They all look so adorable.
I can't take my eyes off them.

Out of all the pictures I took, there's only one of them that stood out the most.. It's an offguard photo when I'm speaking to my baby.

"I'll like for you to not edit these ones, please." I tell the photographer and he nods.

Finished with my small meal, I walk barefooted to my room but as soon as I open the door, I am greeted by Kevaun.
