I watch as Kevaun plays with our daughter, their eyes shining with joy. We're finally spending a day together since being on this vacation, and it all feels like a breath of fresh air.

I can already see the tension in Kevaun's body easing, his muscles relaxing as he bonds with our daughter.

We are on a hike, Kiehlani encourged us to go on. She runs ahead, exploring the trail. "What do you think I should do... you know, about everything I told you?" His eyes searching mines.

"Honestly, I don't know. This is all very overwhelming, so I think you should do what's right for you. You're finally aware of everything, so it's up to you to decide on giving her a chance to make amends or set boundaries and leaving it there."

He nods, his expression thoughtful. This is the most unease I've ever seen him. But I do understand, I know I'd be in a certain state if I was in his position.

"Okay... just nuh waah get hurt again. All of this is just too much for me." He whispers, his voice barely above a whisper. I take his hand, squeezing it gently.

"I'm here for you, always. Remember we're doing this together."

We finally reach a clearing, and spread out the blanket to start our picnic. Kiehlani jumps on her father and begins to chatter excitedly about her favourite foods to him.

He laughs, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
It's always a joy for me to witness their bonding moments.

As they laugh, sharing facts together, I can slowly see the weight of the truth lifting, and it fills me with hope.

"Wanna show daddy the pictures I took of you today?" I bring up, wanting him to know every little detail he missed out on.

She happily claps, searching through her bag for her Ipad.

I giggle, taking the many food we carried from the basket. We ate and engaged in conversation filled with laughter.

We're now laying together on the blanket, watching the clouds drift lazily by. "I'm thinking of giving her a chance, and also joining my father's organization to ours."

I smile at him, "Then that's good. If you think it's best, go for it. I'll be here either way."

Leaning towards him, I place a long kiss on his lips, hoping this would give as much reassurance.

"I love you... a lot."

Our daughter snuggles up close to us. In this moment we're a family, imperfect, but loved.
