On September 2nd I went back to college and started my second year. Kirk and I discovered that our half day on Wednesdays had been moved to Thursday as Louise had some issues with her schedule after she became pregnant. This wouldn't affect our work experience and that Thursday, Kirk and I drove to The Met.

"So, are you guys goin' on a honeymoon?" He asked on the drive over.

"I dunno," I said. "Desiree is getting married and I've been helping her plan."

"I'm happy for her," Kirk said, turning into The Met parking lot. "What's her fiance's name?"

"Theo." I said, and he nodded.

"That's the guy," Kirk smiled. "Cool dude."

He parked and we walked around the front of the imposing stone building and up the cement steps. The inner foyer was beautiful. There were stunning archways and in the center of the foyer was a fountain with plants decorating it. Melissa greeted us and shook both of our hands, smiling broadly.

"Glad you could both make it." She smiled.

"Thank you." Kirk said.

"Yeah, thanks." I said.

"If you'll both follow me," Melissa said, and she started walking. We trailed behind her. "I'll introduce you to two of our current team."

She led us past groups of tourists and other people. We walked down the hallway past various pieces of art and she led us into an office. There was a girl in there, typing on a computer. Her brown hair was piled into a messy bun and she was wearing a dress patterned with the moon and stars painting on it.

There was a guy standing behind her and they were talking, discussing whatever it was she was writing. Melissa cleared her throat and they both looked up.

"Daisy, Kirk, I'd like to introduce you to two of your colleagues," Melissa said. "Clara Fairheart and Chad Wilson."

Clara stood and rounded her desk, taking Kirk's hand, then mine, shaking vigorously.

"So lovely to meet you both," She beamed. "I saw both of your pieces that were selected and I was so impressed."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"Yeah, that's really kind." Kirk grinned.

Chad was the next over. He slapped Kirk a high five and looked at me. I managed a friendly smile, lifting my hand and waving awkwardly.

"I also saw your pieces," Chad smiled at me. "That fallen angel was beautiful. You're very talented. I wish I had that much imagination. You have brains, beauty and creativity."

"Cool it Romeo." Clara said.

"The fallen angel is her husband." Kirk cut in.

"Aw, when did you get married?" Clara smiled.

"August 16th." I said.

"Guess you're shit outta luck." Clara said, patting Chad on the shoulder.

Melissa left us to get to know each other. Clara started excitedly talking about her newest project and an exhibition she was planning. Kirk and I listened attentively. Chad hovered next to us, but didn't speak much.

"I'll give you guys a tour if you want." Clara smiled.

"Yeah, that'd be great." I said.

We started walking followed by Chad. I walked next to Clara. I didn't want to say too much, but Chad made me a little uncomfortable. Clara walked through the exhibits, showing us various pieces and giving us facts about the museum.
