November arrived and with it came the chill of early winter. On the 6th November, Louise had an appointment for a scan and this gave Kirk and I the chance to go to The Met for an extra day of work experience. I woke up at half eight, showered and got dressed. I'd started my period and for some reason I felt a little nauseous.

This was unusual since the pill not only regulated my periods, but made the awful parts of them less severe so the nausea was unusual. I pushed that feeling down and settled on just a coffee for breakfast. My stomach rolled and I decided not to finish the rest of the coffee. Kirk arrived at 9am and I left the house, getting into his car.

"Mornin.'" He smiled.

"Hey." I said, ignoring how the seatbelt pressed against my tummy.

"You ok, Daisy?" He asked. "You look a little pale."

"Yeah, it's just..." I said, softly. "T-time of the month."

"Oh," Kirk said, laughing a little. "Thought maybe you guys were in the parent's way."

"What?" I asked.

"Pregnant." Kirk clarified, blushing.

"O-oh..."I said, blushing too. "N-not at this time."

"Cool," Kirk laughed. "Sorry, I made that awkward. Anyways, is Josh at work?"

"Yeah, till half eight." I replied.

Kirk steered the car away from the sidewalk and we drove to The Met. We got there at half nine and Melissa met us in the foyer. She seemed like a good boss. She was always really kind and usually greeted us when we arrived.

"Good morning." She smiled.

"Hey." Kirk said.

"Good morning." I replied.

"Always so formal, Daisy." She laughed and then peered at me. "You look very pale, sweetheart. Are you ok?"

"Yeah, just female issues." I said.

"Oh my goodness," Melissa said. "Well, if you need sanitary pads or tampons then I have a selection in my office for emergencies and Clara has a hot water bottle you can borrow, I'm sure she wouldn't mind."

"Thank you so much." I replied.

We followed her to the office. Clara was already here, typing away at her laptop. She smiled when we walked in. Melissa motioned for us to take a seat.

"So," Melissa beamed. "You've both been here for 3 months. We have a new exhibit starting this weekend. It features various graffiti artists and the theme is modern life in New York."

"Wow, that sounds so cool." Kirk said, and I nodded.

"It is very cool," Clara smiled. "Melissa and I have talked and we'd like you both to write the press releases for it, whilst I oversee the exhibit. If you could use what you've learned and write them today. I will review them and oversee any improvements, but this will be your first project with minimal supervision."

I smiled despite the nausea. I could barely contain my joy. I'd been waiting to write something and so had Kirk. Clara set us up on the laptop next to her and I sat next to Kirk. We started work on our first press release.

At half ten, Chad arrived. He seemed to arrive late most days. Clara stopped typing and looked at him.

"Melissa wanted to talk to you about your punctuality." Clara said.

"Well, then, Melissa can come find me herself." Chad snapped, sitting down.

"Hey, don't shoot the messenger." Clara said.
