My whole body was quaking in fear, my judgment becoming blurred, as I peaked out of the curtain wing onto the stage.

Niall stood there, on the opposite side than I was, along with four other guys, the oldest seeming to be only a few years older than I, the youngest my age.

All I had recognized from a few minutes ago:

They were all eliminated contestants.

Sharing the stage, on the side closer to me, were four girls, who I also recognized to have been eliminated.

They all stood there, confused.

Hoping for the best, yet not knowing what to expect.

"Hello," Nicole, seated next to Simon at the Judges' Panel, greeted towards everyone.

A bunch of nervous "hi's" were exchanged amongst the nine contestants on stage.

Niall nervously bit his nails, along with one of the guys next to him.

"Thank you all for coming back," she began.

The four guys along with Niall all wrapped their arms around each other and braced for the news, whatever it was.

I paced nervously, back and forth in the wings, wanting so badly to go out there and assure Niall it would all be alright.

"I know, judging by some of your faces, that this is really hard," she continued, "we thought long and hard about it, and we thought of each of you as individuals, and we just feel that you are too talented to let go of," she paused.

My whole entirety became frozen, I couldn't stand the anticipation building inside of me.

There was no way Niall could leave.

"We think it would be a great idea to have two separate groups," she explained, looking towards the four girls, and then to the four guys and Niall.

"We've decided to put you both through to the judges'," Uncle Si finished for her, breaking the tension.

Niall's face lit up, his eyes watering up, as he and his new four bandmates all jumped into the air, exchanging hugs, whoops, hollers in pure shock.

He had made it.

I knew it.

"Guys, girls," he settled them down, "this is a lifeline. You have got to work ten, twelve, fourteen hours a day, every single day, and take this opportunity. You've got a real shot here guys."

I clicked the earpiece in my ear to channel 4 and spoke into it.

"Good call Uncle, good call." As I smiled from ear to ear, I saw Simon nod and wink. He heard me.

Even though he wasn't my uncle, he still chose to have me call him that.

Niall's smile glittered under the lighting as he and the other four stood absolutely giddy.

And even if we weren't actually related, he was the best uncle I could ask for.

After a few moments everyone walked off stage.

Niall headed straight towards me and I jumped into his arms.

"I told you that you could do it," I whispered into his ear as tears continuously trickled down his smooth cheeks.
