I quickly attempted to swallow the giant mouthful of food I had shoved in my mouth, and in the meantime choked a bit.
This was the guy I thought I saw looking at me.
I gasped for air before I finally caught my breath.
Smooth Brodie.
"Hi."
He smiled.
I silently thanked all that is good for the fact that I remembered to change out of my work uniform.
"Was that girl giving you a hard time?"
"I'm all set."
"Well, if she was, ignore it. She's extremely annoying and none of us like her.
I nodded, taking another bite of my mashed potatoes.
"So was that you in the light booth?"
I full-out gagged on my food and started choking, worse than a few moments ago.
He had seen me.
How?!
Nobody did.
After about ten seconds of whooping coughs and gags I could finally breathe again.
"You okay?"
I nodded.
"Maybe you shouldn't be eating those potatoes, they seem to be posin' a choking hazard to your health." He laughed.
I nodded in agreement. Again.
"So why were you up there?"
"I work here." I answered nervously.
"Oh wow that's really cool!"
I nodded again, for what seemed like the billionth time, at a loss of words to say.
"I'm sorry for just coming over here, I just felt the need to sit here."
"It's okay."
"And can I at least find out your name?" He raised an eyebrow hopefully.
"Brodie."
"I'm Niall... Did I already say that?"
"Yes." I laughed.
He opened his mouth to speak, but stopped, and stared at me for a second.
"You're beautiful."
I blushed, feeling heat rising in my cheeks.
"Crap did I just say that outloud?" He face palmed and shook his head. "Well I'm going to go now before I make an even bigger fool of myself," he admitted, picking up his tray and standing, turning to leave.
"Wait." I called.
He slowly turned around.
"Do you like futball?"
His face immediately lit up as he nodded eagerly.
