"Judge's houses is starting the 28th." Niall turned his head to the right, looking at me.

"What's today?" I laughed. Lately, I had been living day by day, unaware what the date was.

"It's the 26th July.. Monday." Louis informed me, smiling.

Niall sat to my left in the mess hall on the steaming hot Monday after they were formed as a group, along with Liam, Zayn, Harry, and Louis, filling our six-seated table.

Niall's blue-green eyes seemed almost gray today, small bags forming underneath his eyes.

You could tell they had been practicing a lot, pulling all nighters to try and be as good as possible.

"Who is the mentor for the groups category this year?"

"Simon Cowell." Louis mumbled, his eyes slightly widening with fear.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Simon is harmless, trust me. He tries to be serious but in reality he's a teddybear."

Everyone seemed to soften up a little bit as I spoke, realizing he might not be the demon everyone portrayed him as.

"And I will be at Simon's house during your stay for the week,"

Niall's face immediately lit up.

"I help the contestants coordinate their arrangements and who sings what... Have you guys chosen a group name yet?"

They all froze, realizing they hadn't.

"It's okay we can work on it now!" I ensured them, before taking a bite of one of my crisps.

"Start throwing names at me and I'll try and say them like Peter Dickson would," Niall requested.

With every name thrown at him, Niall did his impersonation of Peter, the voice of the X Factor.

"Five Euros"

"Static Sound"

"Flaming Kittens," Harry suggested. We all looked at him curiously, expecting for him to be joking.

Apparently he wasn't.

"Let's do something with 'one' in it, because were a group now!" Louis suggested.

"One Way"

"That sounds like a street sign." Louis laughed.

"One Perspective?"

"One... One Direction." Harry mumbled.

"Wait what was that? What Harry just said?"

"I said One Direction."

"Onneee Diiirreeectiooon," Niall announced in his best Peter voice.

It had a wonderful ring to it.

Zayn, for the first time all lunch, spoke up.

"I like that one... A lot."

I popped Niall's top white button in through its hole, then ran both hands from his collar bone outward to smooth any wrinkles.

"You'll be amazing. We've practiced enough," I paused, ruffling his blonde hair, "You're all outstanding," I complimented, popping his collar, "Just be yourselves and make eye-contact with Simon and you'll be fine." I finished, stepping back to see how he looked.

I moved onto each of the other guys, nitpicking each slight flaw in wardrobe they had, whether it be a wrinkle or a button, and fixed it.

Might have been a little over the top, and no matter how much I wanted to admit it, I wanted them to make it through.

Ever since I met Niall, I had someone to talk to.

Someone who I actually wanted to spend time with.

Someone who meant something to me for the first time in so long.

"You're going to do great things." I patted Niall on the back, shooing them outside, where Simon was awaiting their performance.
