Ever let the rain pull you in a daydream? I mean, just spending minutes and minutes and minutes hypnotized by Mother Nature? I did all the time. And my first night on Galpin Boulevard was one of those nights. It was like she was knocking on his window for company when that pitter-patter woke me.

Prince's balcony doors and tall bedroom windows were blacked out, not by curtains but something more complicated that only a qualified person could undo. Therefore, I had no idea if the hour belonged to the moon or the sun. There weren't any digital clocks around either. Well—he had one on his stereo but it was blinking 12:00 AM.

On my side, I thought of getting up and escaping the dark room to find a window. I was curious to see what was happening outside. But at the same time, I didn't want to break this man's hold on me. Neither of us dressed after our last round in the shower. Wait... No. He snuck in again when we got in bed. But did that count? "I wanna sleep inside of you," is what he said to me. Then he was knocked out. So yeah... That doesn't count. Point is, we fell asleep naked.

Prince's face was in my back. I could feel the small pounces of heat from his nasal breaths on my spine, right between my shoulder blades. And his arm was guarding my stomach with his hand tucked underneath my waist. I could feel the weight of his leg over mine too. Damn. Running my thumb across his knuckles, I told my tail to calm down and stay put. Because yeah, I wanted to sneak off to peek outside but another part of me just didn't know how to take all of this in. I didn't do cuddling. I always said it was because I got hot and bothered too fast. But I wasn't bothered and hot right now, not even with this heavy silk comforter over us. This isn't Earth. It wasn't a dream either. Just felt like I woke up in a parallel universe.

I tried to go back to sleep but the peaceful pitter-patter was replaced by an awful ruckus—like rocks shooting at the window. The wind was howling too. Dramatic images started to cloud my logic.

I watched way too many movies because now Kansas was on the brain and I was thinking the house was about to blow away. I couldn't just sit there blind to it all.

I lifted his arm first, slowly, but then he powered on and just repositioned by sticking his hand between my legs. Father God... After a tired sigh, Prince was back on snooze.
