NOBODY POV
Minji sat at her desk and watched the clock as her teacher was mumbling incoherent words in front of her. She wasn't sure what they were learning and it didn't matter at the moment. A few months prior she was informed that they would be moving a couple hours away to Incheon.
It was shocking information and she wasn't allowed to tell her friends about it. It was nerve wracking for the poor girl. She had been living in Cheuncheon for quite a while. It was her home.
Tik... Tok... Tik... Tok... Tik-a-tik... RINGGGGGGG
The lunch bell finally went off as Minji and her two best friends Heeseung and Jay went to their usual spot in the school's yard. Around them lay a comfortable silence as Jay started kicking around rocks and Heeseung was tying his laces. There wasn't much to do considering the boys "accidentally" kicked all the soccer balls onto the roof.
Minji wasn't sure if she could wait any longer. She had to break it to them somehow and needed to do it soon. 'Maybe now isn't the right time' the long haired raven thought to herself, spacing out. It would be better to tell them now instead of a week before.
"Guys, I need to tell you something" Minji said grabbing her friend's attention. Little did the boys know she was trembling. Having kept this secret for so long. She looked at her best friends and wondered if her fear was showing.
"What's up?" Jay asked her while Heeseung was looking in Minji's direction patiently waiting for her response.
"I'm gonna tell you a secret, but you have to promise not to tell anyone. Nobody can know. I don't want my mother questioning me because one of your moms texted her." Minji said sounding conflicted. They both nodded and looked at her with worry. Minji was never the type to act so anxious like that. The three never kept secrets, so this must've been stressful for her.
"I-I'm moving..."Minji finally let out. Releasing the breath she didn't even know she was holding. Her hands trembled as she faced the ground, unable to look at their expressions.
"What did you just say?!?!?" Heeseung asked, voice raising . His actions caused Minji to flinch and drop her head even lower. He was too overwhelmed by such important information that will now alter the course of his best friend's life.
"When will you be leaving?" Jay asked calmly as if this was an everyday conversation. Internally Jay was upset, but when he saw the look on Minji's face he knew that raising his voice would do no good in this situation.
"In two months" Minji replied. Her voice low, barely above a whisper. But they heard her.
"You're not moving far away right?" Jay asked with hope.
"I'm moving to Incheon" Minji replied and the hope is Jay's eyes disappeared.
"Why Minji? Why do you keep this to yourself and tell us now???" Heeseung asked, his tone angry yet so vulnerable. His volume caused some of the kids in the yard to stare thinking there was a fight happening. Jay gave him the biggest death glare and he finally realized there were others looking in their direction.
Minji ignored Heeseung on purpose, his yelling was making her irritated. It was obvious Jay was upset but he was trying to stay calm in front of them. She knew she had to explain herself but Heeseung just made her angry. "AS IF I HAD A CHOICE" she yelled back hands still trembling as she was trying to stay calm. "My parents made me promise not to tell anyone, I'm not even supposed to be saying this right now. But I can't take it anymore". She explained to both of them as calmly as she could.
