~Jennifer's POV

I was looking down at my watch for the 11th time. I was on my way to an awards show where I was nominated for Best Actress. Obviously, I was nervous.

"Just calm down, Jennifer. You'll be fine. You're going to win it." My manager told me, which made me ease up a little bit.

"I can't. I'm really nervous." I told her then buried my face in my hands.

"Hey." My manager said while patting my shoulder. I removed my face from my hands then sat up straight. "Everything's going to be alright." She told me one more time.

"You think so?"

"Of course. I mean, what is there that could make you nervous?"

I could think of a million reasons why. But there was no time for me to tell it all to my manager, because my phone was ringing. I looked at the caller ID, it was my boyfriend, Ace.

"Hey." That was all I could say.

"Hey, babe."

"Why'd you call me?"

"What? Is it against the rules?"

I could detect the sarcasm in his voice. I giggled at what he said.

"So, umm, babe, good luck on your awards show tonight. I wish you all the best. I want you to come home with the trophy, alright?" He told me.

"I'll try." I told him in a nervous voice. "Wait, does that mean that you won't be able to come at the awards show tonight?"

"Sorry, baby. The traffic is really heavy back here. I can't go to the airport on time."

"Oh. That is really sad news."

"Call me later when you've won the award?"

"Please, I'm not going to win it."

"Yes you are. Remind me to say 'I told you so' when you call me later."

"Okay then."

"And, make sure you win that award, okay?"

"That's actually the thing I'm worried about..."

"That you won't win it? Impossible." He didn't even wait for what I was about to say.

"Well, thanks for the encouragement."

"You're welcome, babe."

"So, how's life?"

"Same as yours. Busy as ever, but at least I have time to call you."

"That's good news."

"Oh, babe, I have to go now. They're calling me already."

"Oh, okay. Good luck with your movie."

"Yeah. I know. I wish I'll get as famous as you."

"I'm not that famous."

"Yes you are. Okay, I gotta run, bye."

He already ended the call before I could even say goodbye. I put my phone down and felt a little relieved.

"Was that Ace?" My manager asked me.

"Yeah, it was. It was really sweet for him to call, you know?"

"Is he at the venue already?"

"No. He won't be able to come."

"Really? What's the reason this time?"

"He wasn't able to catch his plane."

"Oh. That's too bad."

"Yeah, I know."

"You know, I've been noticing that he's always late, or if not, absent, at the times when you need him the most."

"That's why he called me, so we could talk."

"I know. At least he's a really loyal boyfriend."

"Yeah..."

I leaned against the glass window. All I could think about was how the hole in my heart wasn't filled ever since that day. Ace filled it up a little bit, but I was still devastated, and I learned not to make it obvious to other people. I still can't get over him, you know? What happened, and what mattered...I can't talk to him about it, even though it was about him, since I knew that it's completely useless. He doesn't even know anymore, anyway.

He can no longer remember every memory we shared together...
