13 - Babysitting

Rain has been pouring for about 2 hours. I really enjoyed the sound of rain. It helped me focus on work more, so whenever it rained I pulled out any papers that need filling. 

My friend Jenna was over to help me prepare for tonight. I was babysitting 2 kids for her. Sounds pretty fun to me. I wanted to use the time that I had until I got married to spend time with others. The kids were Jenna's cousins. 

Apparently I was getting paid too, which I told her she didn't need to but you know her- she never gives up. 

"Okay, so how old are they again?" I hope they're older so I could talk to them. But babies are still so adorable.

"One's 7 and the other one's 9. They're names are Aria and Mila." Their names are so pretty. 

"I love the names, they're not allergic to anything right?" I was planning on baking with them.

"Nope, Just make sure Aria doesn't get too much sugar. Other than that my aunt will pick them up at 11:30. I'll text you the number." 

"Great. Thanks." 

"I'll get going now. My nail appointment's in 20 minutes. Have fun. Bye Maria" I wonder how she gets things done in the rain. I get too anxious leaving the house while its pouring. "Bye, Jenna."

I bought some of Carlos's old bored games from the basement, Some leftover candy from Halloween and  all the baking supplies including snacks. This will be so much fun, I could sense it. 

"What you doing?" Carlos walked in the kitchen.  "I'm looking at Jenna's cousin's tonight, So I got some stuff we could do." 

"Oh, I was just gonna let you know I'm going out tonight. Won't be back till midnight...Maybe after." 

"Hold up, Where do you think your going?" 

"A party?"  

"Did you ask dad?"                                                                                                                                                              "He's not even home. I think he went to some event and wont be back till tomorrow."

"Don't come home drunk."   "Got it, Love you!" 

He's definitely coming home drunk. 

After an hour and a few minutes. The doorbell rang. "I'll get it! Jess, Why don't you take the night off. You deserve it." She did deserve it, She's done way too much for us. "Thank you ma'am."

Jess worked for us for a long time. She was like a second mom to me. 

I opened the door and my smile fell. "Matteo. What are you doing here now?"

"Just checking in, Where's your father." The kids are supposed to be here in a few minutes and he's here at my door. That makes me look bad.

I couldn't take any chances so I dragged him in. "Look, I'm babysitting my friends cousin's tonight. I don't want their mom coming here and seeing you here. So get out, I'm busy."
