The humans that I first saw and met, were so cruel. Wala silang awa. Iyon na sana ang paniniwalaan ko habang buhay subalit...nagpakita si Julius.

Chapter Five

Nakakasilaw na liwanang ang sumalubong sa akin pagmulat ko. I groaned and adjusted to the light yet. Unti-unti akong napaupo at napalingon sa paligid. Umaasa ako na panaginip lang lahat ng nakita at naranasan ko pero nadismaya ako pagkatapos makita ang mga antique na bagay sa palibot ko. It's still here.

"Why are you sighing? Aren't you glad that you managed to wake up?"

Napalingon agad ako sa gilid dahil sa boses na narinig. There he is, comfortably lying beside me.

"What happened?" Nagtatakhang tanong ko. Because the last time I remembered, he let me witness his past, he showed me the memory of Julius saving him.

The little thing scoffed, "Sobrang hina mo talaga. You exhausted too much mana while prying on my memories. At nung sinubukan kong bigyan ka ng kaunti man lang, your body rejected it kaya ka nahimatay." He explained.

Napahilamos agad ako sa sariling mukha. Am I that weak when it comes to magic and mana? The real Julius was kind of strong, though?! What happened? The moment I took over his body ay nanghina rin ang katawan ko? Damn.

"Pero nung nahimatay ka, doon lang tinanggap ng katawan mo ang mana na ibinibigay ko sayo." He added.

I sighed again, "Thank you."

Tumayo ako sa kama. I noticed on the window that the outside is already dark.

"Ilang oras ba ako nakatulog?" tanong ko dito.

"Two hours, probably," sagot niya at lumutang sa hangin. He's probably using his mana to do that thing. I heard it was exhausting to use that. Hindi ba siya napapagod?

"Hindi ah, malakas kaya ako." Sambit nito na siyang nagpakunot ng noo ko.

Tumitig sa akin ang dragon, "I can hear your thoughts. I made a contract with you while you are asleep. Ayaw kasi ng totoong Julius na gumawa ng contract sa akin, ewan ko ba dun. At...hindi kita mabibigyan ng mana kanina kapag hindi ako gagawa ng contract. I don't have a choice." He explained.

My eyebrows arched after hearing his words, "Really? Eh, bakit kay Al ka palaging sumasama?"

"He can always sense my presence kaya wala akong choice kundi dumikit sa kaniya. Hindi pa alam ng ibang tao dito sa palasyo na nandito ako. Ikaw at si Al lang ang may alam." aniya.

"Eh, bakit hindi ka gumawa ng contract kay Al?" pagsusungit ko.

"Dahil ayaw niya. Tsaka malakas naman siya. Ramdam ko 'yun. His magic power is almost as strong as mine." He also fired back.

Makes sense, though. But making a contract with me, huh? I wonder why did the real Julius does not want it. It would make you stronger once you make a contract with the dragon. They'll treat you as their master. They would be able to tell where you are and would probably follow where you go. Kind of annoying but at least it's advantageous since they'd also be able to save you from danger.

Ah, the reason why Julius probably does not want to make a contract with the dragon was because: one, he does not want the dragon to make him his master and follow him everywhere since the dragon said he hates humans, or two, because a dragon can get easily attached to their master. Once the contract is made, kapag may mangyaring masama sa master nito o kapag mabawian ito ng buhay, there's a probability that the dragon would go berserk to the point of burning a whole kingdom. At ito siguro ang ayaw mangyari ni Julius.
