"Don't leave..." he whispered back softly.

Chapter 24

"Eh? Bastard? Why is that?"

"You're the reason why everything became a mess, anyway." I murmured but I knew he heard it.

I saw how he raised his eyebrows. "Is it my fault that you're such a stupid fool?"

I. AM. OFFENDED.

Dahan-dahan akong napatingin sa pagmumukha niya. Holy shit, I'm pissed off. Kanina pa 'tong lalaking ito ah.

Before I can even burst out, I forcibly closed my eyes and breathed deeply. Kalmahan mo, Julius. Kakailanganin mo pa ang tulong nito.

Instead of worrying about him, itinuon ko ulit ang pansin ko kay Al. He's still unconscious.

"Raven."

This time, Raven successfully showed himself. Nakalutang ito sa harapan ko mismo.

"I need your magic. Help me lift Al. I need to get him out of here."

Agad na napatango si Raven.

"I can help—"

"Did I ask you?" pagpuputol ko sa sasabihin ni Lionel. I saw how his right eyebrow raised.

I immediately knew what it was. Magic is really amazing, look how I can lift this big, careless king effortlessly.

I wouldn't know what will happen once he's awake.

THIRD-PERSON POV:

Al's body is physically shut-down. It's like he's paralyzed. He wasn't able to move or even talk, however, his mind and senses are totally awake. He can hear Julius and Lionel's conversation. He felt his body float, and felt the warm embrace around him.

But the last thing he remembered is his encounter with the head priest. Priest Talio.

This priest serves as Al's advisor. Throughout all the years, every king has their own appointed priest. Usually, it's the newly crowned king who will choose the new appointed priest on their side. But, in Al's case, it was different. He wasn't the one who chose his own advisor when the crown was passed down to him, the council themselves decided to choose for him.

The council. The family of these council officers have long been serving the royal family, generation after generation.

He was seven when his father, the former king, passed away. The throne was left unattended as his mother locked herself up in her room because of her husband's sudden loss. Because of this incident, the throne was left empty, and Al, as the heir, was trained earlier than expected to become the next king. He was just a kid back then, and the council officers forced him to sit on the throne.

Even his last conversation with the priest, he couldn't recall any of it. No matter how he tries to remember, but one thing is sure, the priest talked to him, before he totally blacked out.
