Chapter 45: I fucked up!

They greet you and Mikey cheerfully before Baji speaks up.

"So, you two are together now, huh?", he says with a teasing smirk, fully knowing that you two are just pretending after you told the truth to Kazu last time. He seems to enjoy your flushed face after pointing it out and Mikey's slightly flustered expression.

"Yeah, that's right.", Mikey suddenly says confidently, smiling cheerfully as he squeezes your hand to calm you down. "Yurei-chin's my girlfriend now so act like that around her. Am I clear?" Mikey says seriously, his demeanour changing for a moment before he smiles again.

Everyone tenses up at Mikey's seriousness, as you look at him in surprise while your heart skips a beat. What was that? It feels like he really meant it just now.

The mood became tense after Mikey's declaration and it seems like no one's dared to say anything again, afraid to offend him, or you. You glance around seemingly uncomfortable with the situation before you remember the cookies. Oh right. I still have to give them to everyone. Maybe I can light up the mood with this... .

"Um... .", you start muttering shyly, fidgeting with your hands after you let go of Mikey's hand. "I've got something for everyone... ."

They looks at you curiously while you take the cutely wrapped cookies out of your back. "I've baked some cookies for you as a thank you for um, you know. Saving me? Or um... . protecting me..., um... .", you mumble nervously as you hand everyone their own pouch of cookies. Mikey receiving his at last as he looks at the cookies with anticipation.

"You didn't have to do this Y/N.", Mitsuya says kindly, a hint of surprise on his face as Draken interjects. "Well, she already made them, so thank you Y/N."

"Wow! They look so good!", Chifuyu chirps happily while Baji stars to eat some in silence, a bored expression on his face.

"Didn't expect you to be so good at this kind of stuff Y/N.", Smiley says teasingly while Mikey shots him a warning glare. "Um. I mean. They sure are delicious, Hahahaha... ."

"They really are good. Right Sanzu?", Mucho says, eating some as Sanzu nods silently. His gaze lingering on you for a moment before he looks to the side with an unreadable expression.

Pah-chin munches his cookies down in a flash and nearly chokes on them. "Water! We need some water! Damn it Pah-chin, eat slower, would you?!", Peh-yan yells panicky while searching for some water while Pah-chin coughs.

You and Mikey watch their interaction amused when Mikey suddenly put his arm around your neck to bring you closer. "They really are good. Make me some more later, kay'?", he whispers into your ear teasingly while you blush hard at his closeness.

Draken observes you two with a knowing grin. Hm~? Are they really just pretending? They surely don't seem like it. He thinks before letting out an amused chuckle.

Mitsuya noticing it, shifts his gaze to you two too. An unreadable expression on his face as he sees you interact with Mikey. He sighs before he smiles at you two.

"You alright?", Draken asks him suddenly, hearing him heave a sigh just now. "Huh? Yeah. It's nothing.", he chirps, grinning to his friend with a sheepish smile.

Draken settles his gaze at Mitsuya for a moment before he smiles knowingly. He pats his shoulder before walking away. "I'm sorry for that."

Mitsuya's eyes widen for a moment before he smiles and follows Draken silently. "Oh, shut it."

A few moments pass and the Musashi shrine slowly fills with the other members of Toman. You stand nervously beside Mikey who chats with Draken leisurely. Some members glance here and there in your direction, whispering something to their neighbour.
