Chapter 51: ...it is real?!

"Yurei-chin, who is this?", Mikey asks as he stops beside you, noticing your distressed look. He stands slightly in front of you, sheltering you from any possible harm, he glares at the old woman. A shiver ran up his spine as he noticed her white eyes. What's with this strange woman?

"She knows about me coming from another world. She... , she's the one that told me about it too.", you tell Mikey nervously while rubbing your arms. Mikey keeps silent and observes the old woman while the others watch you interact tensely, seeing that Mikey has everything under control, but nonetheless, ready to move if he says anything.

"Y/N. I'm glad that you made so many friends here.", the woman starts while she smiles at you kindly. "But... , there is no way for you to go home anymore."

"Huh? W-What are you saying?", you mumble in shock, your hand tightening around your arm while you take a step back.

Mikey glances to you tensely while the old woman continues her speech. "You can't return to your world. It no longer exists as it once did."

You freeze up, your eyes locked to the woman while many thoughts whirl through your head. What did she just say? I can't go back? Huh? What? Huh?

The woman continues with her speech, not even bothered by your reaction, she speaks calmly. "You got reincarnated here Y/N. Everyone you know is dead because of an *Instantaneous Disintegration Event. So, I'm really glad that you made friends here, because you can't go back even if you want to. Do you understand?"

You take another step back and look down while an emotionless chuckles escapes you mouth. "Hehe, yeah. I understand.", you say emotionlessly as you hold your arm tensely.

"Hey, Y/N?", Mitsuya asks nervously as he walks over to you. Noticing your disturbed self. He halts abruptly when you give him an emotionless smile. Why's she smiling?!

Mikey suddenly steps forward. "Do you possible know something about her memory losses? Does it have something to do with her reincarnation?", Mikey asks bluntly, his composure tense as he glares at the woman.

The old woman smiles calmly, her white eyes gazing at Mikey. "Yes, I know. She lost her memories due to her nearly death experience. Her soul got disconnected from her earlier world, so she won't remember some small parts."

"Why does she even remember anything from her world?", Baji suddenly asks agitated, stepping beside Mikey.

"It's a gift from me to her. But she risked it herself because she made some mistakes. She has to be careful, because she can't get reincarnated again if she dies here. It's the rules.", the woman explains calmly while you remain to stand still with your head slumped down.

"The fuck are you saying, dumb old hack! A gift? How can this be a gift?!", Baji yells agitated while Mikey just observes them blankly.

"Baji, stay down.", Draken interjects calmly, moving in between Baji and the old woman. He glances between your frozen self and the old woman before sighting. "So, you are telling us that Y/N is stuck here with us, without any way to go back home. That she lost her memories from her old home, that were a gift from you because she died here once, hypothetically. And that she won't be able to reincarnate again if she dies here, right?"

The old woman nods positively. "Yes. And there is one more thing. Y/N." 

You glance up at the mention of your name, still partially disconnected from this world as overwhelming thoughts swirl through your head.

"You can't exist in any other timeline. Only here. If your friend with the ability to time leap goes back into his timeline, you won't be there. You just can't. Your soul is linked to this timeline only."
