Chapter 56: His story.

"That's really good. Where do you slee—.", you start to ask, but your words trail off when a familiar figure suddenly steps into the room, catching everyone off guard.

"You're back?", the man asks, his voice tinged with boredom. His expression is as blank as his tone, but there's something striking about him. He's shorter than you, with lilac eyes that seem to pierce through the room. His hair is styled in a striped pattern, dyed a mix of purple and blond, and tied back in a ponytail, with loose strands of each colour framing his face. A single red drop earring dangles from his left ear, adding a touch of sharpness to his look.

"Isn't that Wakasa?", you think, taken aback as the dual-coloured man suddenly appears beside bf/n.

"Y-yeah, didn't know you were here. Um, sorry, I brought... .", he glances swiftly over to you and Kazu, "...some friends over."

You meet his gaze, feeling a pang of disappointment. A friend, huh? Of course, Y/N, you think to yourself, trying to make sense of the situation. He can't just say you're his girlfriend when you look like this. You let your gaze drop in silence, a mix of emotions swirling inside you.

Kazu, noticing the new guy, feels a strange sense of unease creeping up on him. He's confused about why this guy is making him feel this way, and when he glances over at you, seeing your downcast expression, he frowns. Who is that guy...? I have a bad feeling.

"Friends, huh? Surprising.", Wakasa remarks, his tone flat as he walks over to the side, knocking on a door. "Oi, are you in there? You can't leave the gym unattended like that."

A deep groan is heard from the other side as the door swings open, revealing an imposing figure. Benkei steps out, towering over everyone in the room. His tall, muscular frame is immediately intimidating, and the platinum blond crew cut that extends to a trimmed old Dutch beard adds to his frightening presence. Golden piercings gleam from both ears, catching the light, while his firm, wide eyes and prominent nose emphasize his stern expression. His tanned complexion and the enormous tattoos that cover both his arms and chest make him look like a man you wouldn't want to mess with. He scowls, revealing a grimace that shows off his displeasure.

"Ugh, shut up, Waka. I was sleeping.", Benkei mutters irritably before his eyes land on the unfamiliar faces in the gym. His grimace shifts into a grin as he takes in the sight of you and Kazu. "Oh! New faces! Are you here to train?", he asks with unexpected enthusiasm.

"Uhh, n-no... we... we... .", you stammer, glancing at Kazu and bf/n for help.

Bf/n is about to speak when Kazu cuts in. "Training, huh? It's been a while since I could go all out... .", he mutters, more to himself, before looking at you. "Is this okay with you?"

You tilt your head in surprise. "S-sure. Um, g-go ahead." Did he just ask me for permission?

Benkei's grin widens as he eyes Kazu. "You look strong, kiddo. Wanna go and swing some punches?"

Kazu smirks slightly, accepting the challenge as he heads into the ring with Benkei.

You, bf/n, and Wakasa watch them occasionally, while bf/n begins telling you about his time here. After a while, Wakasa decides to join the two in the ring, leaving you alone with bf/n.

"So... can you tell me how exactly you ended up here?", you ask after Wakasa left, unsure but filled with anticipation.

He nods, leaning back against the wall as he starts to think back. "Sure, it's a bit of a story... ."

"I woke up on a grassy field beside a river, just like that. The last thing I remember, we were sitting with your mom in the garden, and then suddenly, I'm here.", he begins, his voice tinged with a mix of disbelief and humour. "At first, I thought I was dreaming, you know? But after a while, it became pretty clear that this wasn't some weird dream. So, my next thought was, 'Did I get isekaied?'" He chuckles softly, shaking his head. "But why would that happen? I didn't die or anything. It was so confusing."
