The two of them tightly held their hands and closed the small window in front of them before getting up.

"Let's move to the front of the tent and then take two extra steps."

Shen Lei gave a faint hum. "We wouldn't walk into something, would we?"

Luo Lin glanced at him with a smile and shook his head. "I don't think we should. We are technically in a different dimension so even if we can see what is in front, it can't really affect us." In fact, he wasn't even sure if people on the outside were able to see through the windows he opened. That was something he'd have to check when they got back. This kind of question couldn't be asked of anyone after all.

The pair of lovers didn't discuss further and moved a step forward to arrive in front of the tent before sharing another look. Then, they quietly took another two steps.

Shen Lei took a deep breath. "I hope this didn't move us somewhere else entirely. I tried not to think too much about it and just imagined passing by the flap of the tent."

Luo Lin nodded. "Me too. Don't worry. I'm sure it'll have worked." They had already figured out the gist of how this ability worked. Getting it right shouldn't be as much of a problem any longer. At most, they would be slightly off.

Shen Lei didn't ask further and simply waited for Luo Lin's next decision. Even though he seemed to be the catalyst for Luo Lin's ability to work, it was still Luo Lin's in the end so it was only right to have him make the decisions. Also, he believed that he would have an easier time adapting to changes so this was simply the smartest choice.

Luo Lin took a deep breath, then opened the smallest possible window that would barely allow him to look outside. He only took a glance before he closed it again and then nodded at Shen Lei. "We are definitely in a tent and nothing seems to be in front of us. Let me check the other directions and then we can come out if it's convenient."

He opened the same kind of window on the other sides before hastily closing them again. He even checked different heights before he finally turned back to Shen Lei. "It seems alright. I didn't see Elder Fa though."

Shen Lei's brows shot up. They had waited for so long and never seen the Elder go out in that time so she had clearly never been in the tent in the first place. "What should we do then? Wait in the dreamscape or go outside?"

Luo Lin hesitated but finally opened a door in front. "Let's go out. Since we haven't used the dreamscape much, it's better not to stay inside all the time. Who knows if there is a limit on the duration I can use it?"

Hearing this, Shen Lei's brows furrowed. Luo Lin's copied abilities were indeed all limited versions. He had thought that the fact the dreamscape had a fixed form and could only be manipulated in the way of creating and closing openings plus needing to lug him around would be the limit on this one but ... it was indeed possible that they hadn't discovered all of them yet. After all, they were still learning something new every hour they used this space.

Seeing as this was indeed a possibility, he naturally followed Luo Lin out, afraid that they might have used the space too much already. This was the ability best suited for dire circumstances. If there really was an unknown time limit they could use it for ... the dreamscape might be unreachable when they needed it the most. At that point, what were they supposed to do? If it happened without any warning, they might even lose their lives.

The two of them stepped out of the dreamscape and the room closed behind them. With the walls no longer obstructing their view, they turned to look around.

The camp of the Zheng Yang Sect looked a lot more temporary compared to their own. This was true on the outside and also seemed to be the case regarding the inside of the Elder's tent. There was hardly anything in here save for one desk with a few documents still lying on it and a cultivation platform to the side. It appeared that Elder Fa wasn't even sleeping.

Shen Lei looked over his shoulder and raised his brows. "There should be an array to keep the sound inside, shouldn't there?"

Luo Lin leaned into his embrace and nodded. "If not, we'll find out in a moment."

They kept quiet, both of them even holding their breath. Nobody stormed in though so clearly, the sound didn't travel outside. Realizing this, they heaved a sigh of relief. Now, the only question was when Elder Fa would return. Since they had no idea, they sat down on the edge of the cultivation platform, hoping that she wouldn't stay out for too long. After all, even though there might still be some time, it also wouldn't be much. If the Elder agreed to follow them with the disciples of her sect, then they needed to move fast since they couldn't use the dreamscape for this and would have to travel in the traditional way.

Shen Lei looked at the tightly closed flap of the tent and then leaned closer to Luo Lin, putting his arm around his shoulders. "After this, it really won't be long anymore until the final battle. At that time ... you be careful. I know there are no guarantees for any of us but ... I hope you'll survive even if I can't. You hear that? Don't do anything stupid. I'd rather save you than myself."

Luo Lin smiled but shook his head. "What nonsense? Since we agreed to be with each other for the rest of our lives, that will count no matter how long that rest is. You can't go back on your word now."
