The two of them walked for a long time and the path they were on seemed to slope gently downward. Mei Chao Bing didn't feel too good when he realized this. The further inside he went, the more difficult it would be to escape. The further underground they were, the more limited his possible actions.

He had been thinking before that even if his personal strength wasn't in place, it might be enough to distract his Master for a moment so that he could use the magical box Yun Bei Fen's senior martial brother had created. But doing so underground would be asking to injure himself and Fen'er. After all, pushing out that kind of power would definitely not just injure the person in front but also disturb the place around.

Who knew if the structural integrity of this building could hold up? Chances were it would collapse and come crashing down right on their heads. On the outside, the debris could still be blasted aside but underground? No, he would just bury themselves forever. That definitely wasn't something he wanted to entertain if he could help it at all.

While Mei Chao Bing considered what other options he might have, the two of them arrived in front of a gate. Up until now the Elder Lei in front hadn't said a single word. Now, he stopped and lightly reached out. As soon as his fingertips touched the intricate carvings on the surface, the door gently swung to the inside, uncovering the hall behind.

Mei Chao Bing saw his Master at a glance. He was seated on a cultivation platform and the energy around him seemed palpable. He actually couldn't say which level his Master was at but he felt a shudder just seeing him. Clearly, apart from using the magical box, he had no way to beat this man, no matter what plan he came up with. In fact, seeing as the magical box was an experimental product, it wasn't even sure whether it would work. In this case ... what could he do?

In front of him, Lei Chen stepped into the room. He walked up to the cultivation platform without a word, bypassed Feng Bai Xiao, and took a seat a few steps behind him, closing his eyes as if all of this had nothing to do with him. He didn't urge Mei Chao Bing to follow him inside either but then, he had come to their door by himself. Why bother saying unnecessary words?

Mei Chao Bing hesitated for a moment but finally stepped over the threshold and walked a few steps into the hall as well. The gate fell shut behind him but he hardly paid it any mind. His gaze quickly brushed over the insides of the room and he spotted an array to his right. A curtain of spiritual energy was raised around it and inside sat Yun Bei Fen with a desolate expression.

"Fen'er!" Mei Chao Bing didn't care about his Master and simply rushed over to the side of the array. He even stretched out his hands, touching the barrier made of spiritual energy that separated them.

It was solid, definitely enough to withstand a row of attacks. Not that he had thought he'd be able to take Yun Bei Fen out of here just through using force. Still, this was one more sign of how far his Master's cultivation had come. It truly didn't spell a good outcome for this whole matter.

He tried not to think about it. For now, he first had to see how Yun Bei Fen was doing and then he could deal with his Master. He took a deep breath to calm his mood and finally called out lightly. "Fen'er, how are you?"

His little bunny didn't look injured but he didn't trust his Master not to do something to him. After all, he could be used as a means to force his hand as long as he was alive. His state didn't matter at all.

Yun Bei Fen finally raised his head at the familiar voice. His eyes widened and his lips curved up in a bright smile. "Mei Chao Bing!" He lunged forward, reaching out.

Mei Chao Bing felt as if his heart would stop. He wanted to warn him but before he could, Yun Bei Fen had already touched the barrier. Thankfully, it didn't throw him back as he had feared. Instead, it still only served as a means to keep him inside. Well, this much was already good.

He heaved a faint sigh of relief and then looked at Yun Bei Fen with a complicated gaze, repeating his question. "How are you doing? Did they hurt you?"

Yun Bei Fen shook his head. "No, they only grabbed me suddenly and brought me here." He faintly tilted his head and glanced over to the cultivation platform. Finally, he motioned at the Elder Lei who had let Mei Chao Bing into the headquarters earlier. "Him."

Mei Chao Bing nodded, feeling that it made sense. He had always worried that his Master would rely on his superior cultivation base to snatch the person but ... to be honest, someone of a low level would catch much less attention.

If that Elder Lei suddenly appeared in the town, it wouldn't raise any eyebrows. The disciples and the Elders would only think his spiritual energy was that of one of their own younger disciples. Unless they stared at the flower map made by Yan Hong Min the whole time, they really had no way to tell it apart.

This should have made it incredibly easy to take away Yun Bei. In fact, even if Elder Baili and Elder Xing had been there, they might not have realized what was happening while they were in the room. So really, such a person being by his Master's side suddenly didn't seem as odd anymore. Clearly, while a high level allowed you to solve matters with force, a low level had its own advantages as well.
