As we entered the train, we were greeted by surprise. Flooded with luxuries I had never experienced before, let alone seen. "You're mentor will be with you in a moment," Emarie said, leaving us alone.
"What do you think this years arena would be like ?" Cass asked.
"You're both screwed, this years arena will be the worst one yet, that is if they're allowing 2 victors this year and it being the 100th Game," Smith walked in, doom and gloom as always.
"A ray of sunshine you are," I replied back.
"Happy to help," he shrugged.
"So how are you going to help us?" Cass asked.
"I'll help you get ready for the worst, but I doubt you'll even last the blood bath," Smith said.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence," Cass muttered
As we neared the Capitol, I felt a shiver down my spine. I was no where near as ready as Caspian.
"Hey you'll be ok. We still get 3 days of training," he attempted to reassure me.
"You won't leave me, in the arena?" I asked Caspian.
"I promise," he said.
The train screeched to a halt but we didn't feel anything. We had arrived at the Capitol, I hadn't taken one foot out but I already felt overwhelmed.
"Wave and smile and greet," Emarie flounced into our compartment, "That's how you'll get sponsors,"
We did as she said, I suddenly felt a surge of confidence, maybe I did have a chance, a short one but at least I would die next to Caspian. The Capitol greeted us with ecstatic smiles and yells of joy. As we got off the train, Capitol girls flung themselves at Cass, he was already their heartthrob, much to my amusement. He cowered, hating the attention and popularity. I squeezed his hand in reassurance. We had just made our first impression.
