As Cora and I stand in the hallway against the wall talking, I can't help but notice how pretty her eyes are. I have only ever seen that color in my friend, Jason, but his are not as prominent as her's due to the fact that her hair is the same color. The silence between us ends when the bell rings.

"How can we still be waiting for them?" Cora asks me.

"I honestly have no idea." We both laugh as Jackson and Mrs.Douglas finally walk out of the classroom.

"Sorry for the wait, Jackson has something he wants to say to you 2." She glares at Jackson and he looks very uncomfortable.

"Sorry." He blerts out and rushes off.

"You 2 may go to 3rd period." She goes back into her room and I give a confused look to Cora. She does the same to me and we laugh again.

"What class do I have next?" I ask as I hand her my schedule.

"Same as me. Wait a minute- we have all the same classes!" She shouts with a smile. She grabs my hand, "Come on!" She starts running and takes me with her as I almost fall on my face. We run down the hall and into a room were there are many paintings on the walls. This must be the art room. Wow. This is huge. As we run in with big smiles on our faces, all the other students stare at us. Ok, awkward much?

"I love art." I say weirdly. I don't know why I said that. Crap. I hate when I do that.

"Me too." Cora says with a smile as a short blonde girl with tanned skin and a big pink bow in her hair walks over to us.

"Hey Cora! Who is your, um, friend here?" She asks. Why does she seem not to like me? She doesn't even know my name yet.

"Tara, this is Jake. Jake this is my best friend Tara." Cora says. Tara glances down at our hands that I had forgotton were still clasped together. She pulls away and puts her hands on her hips, most likely an attempt to hide the fact that we were holding hands. She is a smart girl.

"Nice to meet you, Tara." I say as I hold out my hand. She just looks at it and pulls Cora away from me. I am slightly disappointed by this but I will just have to deal.

I go over and sit at an empty table. I look around and see many other students, some staring at me and some working on whatever they started before Cora and I got here.

There are 6 tables, including my own, in the room. My table, Cora and Tara's table, the table of jocks were some of Jackson's goons sit, the table with all the depressed looking emo kids, and the table with all the preppy girls that are most likely all bitches. This reminds me of the school I used to go to...

All the emo kids are staring at me, one with black hair and a dog collar(so specific, I know) looks as if he is summoning me. I look away because he is weirding me out. Out of the corner of my eye I watch as he gets up and starts walking up to me. Seeing as Cora and Tara are still talking and I don't want to bother them, I stay were I am and let the boy come to me.

"I'm Dragon." He says as he sits near me," You look like you could mabey fit in with my crew. Come sit with us." He says as he stares at me with his cold eyes.

"I'd rather not, um, Dragon. I, uh, I'm kind of waiting for somebody so..."

"No problem, I'll wait with you." He sits down, never breaking eye contact, and I can instantly feel myself getting nervous."What's your name?"

"J-Jake." I choke out. Why won't he take the hint and leave?

"You know, I was wondering," he places his hand on my knee, "if you would like to-"

"Stop trying to get in Jake's pants! Go back over to your 'crew', Dragon-Ball-Z." Cora shouts at him and he immediately gets up and walks away. "Jacksass..." she says as she sits down next to me, "Are you ok? Did he touch you inappropriately?"

"No, no. All he did was put his hand on my knee. I'm fine. What's his deal?" I ask.

"He is just a really horny boy who saw that there was a fresh slab of meat to hit on and pounced." I laughed at her joke. I guess that would make sense, did he want to have sex with me?

"Well thanks for saving me again, Cora. I can't stand up for myself so..." I trail off, thinking into the past when nobody even tried to help me when I was bullied. Just cause I was different... different from all of them.

"Any time, Jake. Class is just about over so we can get to lunch early if you want." I nod and gather my stuff. We head out of the room at the same time the girls at the snoody-bitch table do. They bump into me and the girl who seems to be the leader gives me a dirty look and pushes me. Cora steadies me before I can fall, "Hey, don't push him!" She yells at the girls.

"Aw, did I accidentally push your little freak of a boyfriend?" The girl says mockingly. She turns back to her friends and says loudly, "I can't decide which one is the bigger weirdo!" They all laugh. That hurts.

"Shut the fuck up, Raina. What did I ever do to you?" Cora asks the girl I now know is Raina.

"You were born." She says as the girls laugh again. Cora pushes Raina. This will not end well. "You little bitch!" She says as she picks up a drink off the table and dumps it on Cora's head.

"Leave her the fuck alone, Raina! God, what the fuck! This is my first day and my first impression of you is the bitchy ring leader of the stupid kids! Just fuck off!" I yell at Raina and her friends. She gives me this disgusted look as the room goes silent. She leaves and I turn back to Cora. "You ok, Cora?"

"Yeah. Thanks for helping me out Jake, it means a lot. Nobody has ever had the courage to stand up to her before." All I do is nod before I take her hand and lead her out of the room.

"Any time." I repeated her words, "Now, how do you want to get new clothes?" I ask.

"Do you have a car?"
