As we strolled through the bustling city streets, the energy around us seemed to mirror the excitement in my heart. It was a night like no other, a night that felt like a scene out of a movie. And as I walked hand in hand with Ben, I couldn't help but steal glances at him, feeling a sense of wonder that we had come so far together.
Our love was a kind that people wished for - deep, passionate, and unbreakable. It was the kind of love that defied the odds, that lasted through every challenge and triumph. High school might be a distant memory, but our bond had only grown stronger with time.
As we sat down for dinner at a cozy restaurant, the ambiance around us was both romantic and enchanting. The soft glow of the candles danced across the table, and I couldn't help but smile as I looked at Ben. His eyes held a warmth and familiarity that made my heart skip a beat.
"Hey, guess what?" I said, leaning in closer to him.
He raised an eyebrow, that playful smile of his tugging at the corners of his lips. "What's up?"
I giggled, feeling like a schoolgirl with a secret. "I heard that Will is here in town."
Ben's expression turned mischievous. "Did you now?"
I nodded, my eyes dancing with amusement. "Yup, apparently he's planning a surprise for Yasmin."
Ben's smile widened, his hand finding mine under the table. "Well, you know what they say about surprises."
"What?" I asked, genuinely curious.
His gaze held a twinkle as he leaned in closer. "They're usually a good thing."
I laughed, playfully swatting his arm. "You're such a romantic."
He shrugged, that charming grin still in place. "Guilty as charged."
As we chatted and enjoyed our dinner, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to this night than met the eye. And just as I was about to ask Ben if he knew anything else about Will's surprise, I noticed Yasmin entering the restaurant with her usual flair.
"Hey, lovebirds!" she exclaimed, sliding into the seat across from us.
I chuckled, shaking my head at her energetic entrance. "Hey, Yas. You seem awfully excited."
She grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, you have no idea!"
Ben leaned back in his chair, his gaze shifting between Yasmin and me. "So, Yas, any exciting plans for the night?"
She shrugged nonchalantly, but her eyes held a hint of excitement. "Oh, you know, just hanging out."
I exchanged a knowing glance with Ben, both of us trying not to smile. We both knew that Will was here, and I had a feeling that Yasmin had an inkling too.
"By the way, did you guys hear about the surprise engagement happening tonight?" she said, her voice dripping with faux innocence.
I raised an eyebrow, feigning curiosity. "Oh, really? Who's getting engaged?"
Yasmin leaned in closer, her eyes dancing with mischief. "Well, let's just say it involves a certain someone we know."
Ben and I exchanged a glance, the realization dawning on us. Yasmin was onto us, and I couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"You've got quite the detective skills," Ben said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Yasmin grinned triumphantly, clearly enjoying the role of the conspirator. "I'm not saying a word, but let's just say it's going to be a night to remember."
