I walked into our cozy house, my tiredness from the day slowly melting away as I took in the scene before me. The tantalizing aroma of dinner wafted through the air, and my eyes landed on Ben, who was standing by the stove with a proud grin on his face. My jaw dropped in disbelief.

"You have got to be kidding me," I exclaimed, unable to contain my surprise.

Ben chuckled, his eyes dancing with mischief. "Surprise, surprise."

I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow. "You cooked?"

He feigned shock, placing a hand over his heart. "Are you doubting my culinary skills, Gabriella?"

I couldn't help but laugh at his playful tone. "Well, let's just say I've witnessed your attempt at scrambled eggs before."

He pretended to be wounded. "Ouch. Low blow."

I walked over to him, my smile growing as I wrapped my arms around his waist. "I'm just kidding, Ben. This is... amazing."

He leaned down and kissed me, a tender and sweet gesture that made my heart flutter. "I thought I'd surprise you," he said softly against my lips.

I pulled back slightly, looking up at him with affection. "You did more than surprise me. You melted my heart."

He grinned, his hands finding their way to my hips. "Well, then, it's working."

As we stood there, his arms around me, the scent of the delicious dinner filling the air, I felt a surge of warmth. This was us-growing, evolving, surprising each other in the most unexpected ways. It wasn't just about grand gestures or big moments. It was about the little things-the simple acts of love and care that spoke volumes.

"I don't know what I did to deserve this," I admitted, resting my head against his chest.

He pressed a soft kiss to the top of my head. "You deserve all the good things in the world, Gabi."

My heart swelled, and I looked up at him, my gaze meeting his with a mixture of gratitude and affection. "Thank you."

He brushed a strand of hair away from my face. "For what?"

"For being you," I said, a soft smile tugging at my lips. "For always surprising me, for loving me, and for this amazing dinner."

He leaned down and kissed me again, this time with a touch of passion that sent a shiver down my spine. "You're welcome," he murmured against my lips.

As we pulled away, I couldn't help but tease him. "You know, Benjamin Cameron Prett, you might just be a keeper after all."

He laughed, his eyes twinkling. "I'll take that as a compliment."

And as we settled in for a cozy dinner together in our own little haven, I couldn't help but revel in the comfort of our love-the kind that found joy in the everyday moments, the kind that was built on trust, laughter, and a deep connection that would stand the test of time.

After dinner I grabbed our plates and started washing the dishes

As I stood at the sink, the warm water and suds keeping me company as I tackled the after-dinner dishes, a soft rustling behind me caught my attention. I turned slightly, and there he was-Ben, leaning casually against the counter, his hands resting gently on my waist.

"You're so clingy," I couldn't help but chuckle, my eyes narrowing playfully at him.

He grinned, his fingers giving a gentle squeeze. "Well, someone has to keep you close."

A giggle escaped me, and I continued scrubbing a plate with a sponge. His presence always had a way of brightening up even the most mundane tasks.

He leaned in, pressing a kiss to my cheek. "I told you, you're mine tonight. I keep my promises."

I rolled my eyes, unable to hide the smile tugging at my lips. "And what if I don't want to be 'yours' tonight?"

He grinned mischievously, his lips brushing my ear. "Oh, believe me, you want to be."

I couldn't deny the warmth that spread through me at his words. With him, there was always a playful edge, a hint of passion that added a spark to our moments together.

Before I knew it, he scooped me up effortlessly, my feet leaving the ground as his arms encircled me. I let out a surprised laugh, my hands instinctively finding their place around his neck.

"What about the dishes?" I protested, even as I found myself unable to resist his spontaneous antics.

He grinned down at me, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "They can wait. Right now, I have more important things to attend to."

I shook my head in mock exasperation, my heart pounding with affection for the man who never failed to keep me on my toes.

He carried me into our room, his lips finding mine in a soft, lingering kiss. As he lowered me onto the bed, the air seemed to crackle with the intensity of our connection.

He pulled away, his eyes locked onto mine. "You know, you're the reason I keep those promises."

I couldn't help but smile, my fingers tracing the contours of his face. "And what promises are those?"

"The ones that involve spending every moment I can with you," he murmured, his gaze unwavering.

My heart swelled at his words, the depth of his affection evident in every glance, every touch. "You have a way of making me feel cherished, you know that?"

He grinned, his fingers gently brushing a strand of hair from my face. "Only because it's true."

And as we melted into each other's presence, any lingering thoughts of dishes or responsibilities faded into the background. In that moment, all that mattered was the overwhelming love that we shared-a love that was as passionate as it was playful, as sweet as it was sincere.

He's good at promises this promise I will never forget ever
