As we walked down the hallway, Yasmin's excitement was contagious. "An acting program? Yasmin, you're gonna be the next big star!" I grinned, playfully striking a pose.
Yasmin chuckled. "Oh please, don't get too starstruck when I'm famous, okay?"
Will leaned in to kiss her cheek, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Can I get your autograph now, just in case?"
Yasmin laughed, shaking her head. "You guys are unbelievable."
Ben and I exchanged knowing glances. "Aw, our little boy is finally growing up," I said, nodding towards Will.
Ben smirked, giving me a quick peck on the cheek. "And what about our little girl here? Can she handle being famous friends with a superstar?"
"Hey, I've got my shades ready for all the paparazzi," I quipped, holding up an imaginary pair of sunglasses.
We all laughed as Brandon's familiar presence appeared. I squared my shoulders, giving him a look that said I wasn't backing down. "Brandon, you've got to learn that life isn't a reality show. Go spread your drama elsewhere."
Will chimed in with a grin. "Yeah, maybe audition for a soap opera or something."
Brandon scowled, but this time, I didn't flinch. He finally walked away, and I let out a triumphant exhale.
Yasmin and I were sitting at our usual spot during lunch, the buzz of the cafeteria echoing around us. She was practically bouncing in her seat, and I couldn't help but grin at her excitement.
"Okay, spill the beans, Yas. You're practically bursting with energy," I teased, taking a bite of my sandwich.
Yasmin let out a dramatic sigh, placing a hand over her heart. "Gabi, my dear, I'm just waiting for Will to finally get his act together and ask me to the dance. It's like watching a sloth try to tie its shoelaces."
I burst into laughter, almost choking on my sandwich. "Oh my gosh, that's a mental image I didn't need. But hey, at least you know he's gonna ask. Will's just working on his grand plan, I'm sure."
