Edward

To my great surprise and joy, Bella was coming to Port Angeles with us, driving up on her own and meeting up with us. The sun had disappeared on Wednesday-the first time that week any of the Cullens went to school-and the usual clouds covered the sky. It was still warm for Washington, so we decided to go despite the lack of UV rays.

It was fun, I have to admit. It was just me, Bella, Mike, Angela and Jessica. Lauren bailed out as soon as Angela invited Bella and the guys had to catch up on homework.

Bella and I stayed close to each other, sitting next to each other for the movie Mike insisted we watch and walking along the marina.

After lunch (for everyone but Bella, who bought a club sandwich-I would see a flash of white and part of the sandwich would now be in her napkin) Mike went off to some generic souvenir store and the girls went to buy dresses for the dance. Well, Bella was just going to be there for feedback and moral support since she wasn't going to the dance.

So that left me with nothing to do. I walked along the Marina and down the streets of Port Angeles, getting worried I was lost when I took a few turns and ended up in a section full of warehouses. Everything was brick and the few stores that were there looked shady and dingy.

My worry spiked through the roof when two people rounded the corner I was heading to.

Bella

I nodded noncommittally as Jessica asked for my opinion on a hot pink dress that showed off her tits. This was the fifth change Jessica has done. Angela is on her second, because she checks the price tags before trying them on.

My phone buzzed against the denim of my jeans and I pulled it out to see a message from Alice. Alice was the only one who was ok, happy even, with the fact I spent my time with Edward. Esme was happy for me, but sad because it wouldn't last. I felt a small stab of pain. I wouldn't call what I had with Edward love-It's too early-but I cared deeply for him.

The others were confused as to why I would hang out with humans. I read Alice's text, immediately standing up, making an excuse about needing to pick up some books at a store and telling it to Jessica and Angela and walking out of the shop.

Edward may be in trouble. Make an excuse and call me when no one is near you. Alice texted.

My ringtone sounded, and I picked it up. "Where is he? What's going on?" I asked in a hard, panicked tone.

"He's in the industrial area. I think he's on Johnson Ave., though. Two people are coming up to him, one with a gun in hand." Alice explained, her tone tight and worried. I looked around and almost cried in relief that no one was near enough to pay attention to me.

I flew down the streets in a flash, entering the industrial area Edward must be in and growled when I saw him trying to stand his ground. There was a man and a woman, both looking starved and they're blood smelled of drugs. The woman was holding the gun.

Not slowing down, I scaled up the building on the side of the street behind the druggies and gracefully dropped down right behind them. They stiffened. I carefully reached up and punched the side of their heads, right behind their ears. I hit them with enough force to knock them out.

Edward looked at me with an arched brow. He almost gets threatened, mugged and possibly beaten and he fucking arched a brow at me. I bent down and swiped the gun, stashing it in my purse.

Edward opened his mouth to speak but I raised a finger and gave him a glare. I knew I was screwed. Remembering Alice was on the phone, I pulled it out of my pocket-I stashed it in there when I started running-and saw she hung up. There was a message, though.
