I immediately wrapped my arms around Edward's neck, my fingers threading themselves into his hair. The taste and feel of his lips on mine was. . .I can't even describe it.
His tongue was pressing against my parting lips, our breath coming out in uneven pants, and I knew we had to stop. My venom coated teeth are not something Edward needs to be acquainted with.
So I regretfully gently pushed him away, resting my forehead on his chest. I felt Edwards full lips brush against my hair, his fingers soothingly running down my back and arm. "Sorry." We both mumbled between stabilizing breaths, and we breathlessly chuckled.
I pulled away, looking into his beautiful green eyes. "You have to understand that, should things continue down this road, we need to be careful. I may not be a threat in the typical vampire way, but it would be quite easy to harm you by simply not paying attention." I softly explained.
"And how would that harm me?" Edward inquired. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Someday I want you to showcase all of your little talents." He said, leading me to the car. I shook my head indulgently, my smile showing I would.
The drive to his home was-incredibly-more comfortable than the drive to the gallery. We always had some form of contact and talked about the art showcased. Edward asked if he could see my work and I knew if I had blood I would be blushing for I haven't drawn or painted anything but him.
"I'll see you Monday." I said in farewell, though I hated to go. The night hours have gotten rather hard to get through. It was bad knowing that what the others were doing I simply would never experience, but knowing I could be with someone who I connect with on a level other than family and not being able to be near them was far worse.
"You could stay." Edward said, looking at the cute house. I could tell Joana had excellent taste.
"And how would that go, with your aunt seeing a girl in your room late at night?" I asked. "Or your parents hearing about it, whenever they decide to call you." Edward snorted, frowning a bit. His parents haven't even sent a fucking email his way. My phone buzzed.
They will tomorrow morning. Elizabeth didn't want to also talk to her sister as well as her son, and Joana will still be at the hospital until 10 a.m tomorrow. Elizabeth knows this because Joana called them yesterday to ensure she could leave Edward alone for that long. –Alice
Meddling pixie. I quickly told her to stop looking through our future for the time being, tacking on a thank you at the end for the information. I wouldn't tell Edward about his mothers plans, though.
"Joana has the night shift tonight." Edward said. He looked at me with a lopsided grin that made me melt. "So you're in the clear." He stepped closer to me, his hands resting over my hips. I fought to keep by breath even as his lips brushed against my neck under my earlobe. "And it's not like we'll be doing anything too scandalous."
I huffed out a laugh, pecking him on the nose as he straightened up. "How long can I stay?" I wondered as we made it up the steps and across the front porch.
Edward shrugged. "In a perfect world you could stay until morning and we can do something together. But you probably don't want to stick around when the only person here is asleep."
"Actually that sounds nice. Better than spending the night at home with three matched up pairs." I mused. Edward arched a brow, smiling coyly.
"Do I want to know?" He asked, amused. I rolled my eyes, shaking my head 'no'. He softly chuckled under his breath, placing a hand at the small of my back and leading me to his room, assumingly.
