Cassie laid in bed, her hands pressing into her eyes trying to soothe her headache as she listened to the storm rage on outside. Hearing lightening crash outside the tower she threw her covers back, jumping up to get her shoes, wand and the potion Hermione had given her a few days earlier.
Running into the common room Cassie grabbed Hermione's hand on the way, pulling her out the door and towards a secret passage way. "Well hello Cass." Hermione huffed as she pushed her hair away from her face.
"Sorry Mione but I knew everyone would ask questions if we took out time."
"You're right. Are you ready to do this?" She questioned glancing at the potion in Cassie's hand.
"Yep." She passed the potion to Hermione and took her wand from her pocket, holding it to her heart. "Amato Animo Animato Animagus." Taking the potion from her and drinking it quickly.
The vial dropped to the floor, glass shattering across the floor when she doubled over, a fiery pain spreading through her body as she felt another heartbeat growing stronger. "Remember show no fear." Hermione said.
Cassie closed her eyes as she imagined herself in Animagus form. The pain flowed through her body once more as she began to shrink to a smaller size. Hermione gasped as she watched her friend transform, moving quickly to pick up her fallen wand.
"Godric! You did it!" Hermione exclaimed as she looked down at her. Standing in her place was a small wolf, fur as dark as her hair making her eyes shine brighter.
She imagined herself back in her human form and felt her body return to normal, a dull ache remaining. "You'll be in pain for the next few transformations but after that you will be fine. Plus you'll grow bigger as time goes on." Hermione said as she helped her to stand back up.
"Thank you Mione, couldn't have done it without you." Cassie smiled, taking her wand back and cleaning the broken glass up.
"You should probably rest now." The two crept through the castle, having to hide once from Filch as they made their way back to the common room.
"Are you okay?" Katie whispered as Cassie stepped into the dorm, quietly shutting the door behind her.
"I'm okay, I'll explain soon." She whispered, crawling back into the comfort of her bed.

As the weeks passed by quickly Cassie continued to practice her transformations with only Hermione, Katie and Olivia knowing. The added stress of her transformations, studying and Quidditch had caused her to forget plans for the twins birthday.
