The summer of 1994 would be one that Sirius, Remus and Cassie would treasure forever. A prank war occurred when Sirius flicked paint at Remus while decorating Cassie's room. After a week of Remus' shoes going missing, Sirius' hair turning green and Cassie gaining cat ears the three decided to call a truce.
A few days before Cassie was due to return the the Burrow she was applying the finishing touches to her room leaving her father and Remus to have some much needed peace and quiet. What she was unaware of was the two preparing for their guest.
Remus sat at the kitchen table, his head buried in his book and Sirius paced up and down. "Doing that won't make her get here quicker."
"I know Moony!" Sirius exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air. "I don't know how this is going to go. What if she doesn't react well?"
Remus hummed, marking his page in his book he placed it on the table to look at his friend. "It's going to be fine, she'll understand" A knock on the door caused the two to rush towards the door to avoid Walburga's scream from her portrait, unfortunately they were unsuccessful.
"Forgot to tell her not to knock then." Sirius grumbled as he pulled the curtains over the portrait. Remus opened the door and ushered their guest through the hallway and into the living room. As Sirius walked into the room he was pulled into a bone crushing hug before he was hit on the back of the head.
"I'm glad to see you Sirius."
Sirius rubbed the back of his head and grinned. "Good to see you too Minnie." McGonagall smiled, taking a a seat in the chair next to Remus. "Thank you for coming, I really appreciate it."
"Of course. I will help in anyway I can. Do you want to explain before we get Cassie involved?" She placed her hands in her lap, raising her eyebrow at him. Sirius paused immediately being reminded of her telling him off at Hogwarts with the same expression.
"She had a nightmare the first night she stayed here but...I don't think it was what you call a normal nightmare."
"She said it was like she was in the room but wasn't actually there." Remus added in.
"You believe she has the same capabilities as Annabelle?" McGonagall questioned.
"Yes. It was the way she reacted. Annabelle said hers was the same at that age."
"Why don't we bring her down." Sirius nodded, getting up and opening the door before shouting up for her.
"CASSIOPEIA LYRA BLACK CAN YOU COME DOWN HERE!" Sirius paused, waiting for his daughter to acknowledge him. "HELLLOOOOO" Remus and McGonagall shook their head at his antics before suppressing a laugh as Cassie shouted down to her father.
