Everyone enjoyed themselves, Taylor and Tess danced their heart out, now the party came to an end, Tess and Taylor gave Darwin his gift and he thanked them smiling, Alfred just stared the both of them
"Thank you guys so also" he smiled at them, Tess and Taylor looked at Medalyn and at each other blushing and started fan-girling him
"I just got chills in my body......." Tess said and held Taylor who screamed a little grinning, Darwin chuckled and glanced at Medalyn who just stood by him smiling, they calmed and composed themselves
"You don't have to be so cool talking to us" Taylor said smiling, Tess nodded
"Yah....I mean, we don't plan on falling for our friend's fiancee" Medalyn eyes widened, Darwin and Fredek laughed, they were all at the parking lot, Fredek was to take them home
"You guys should go home...." Medalyn said pushing them inside the car "you're embarrassing me" they tried resisting
"Darwin!" They teasingly called out but Medalyn slammed the car door and signalled Fredek and Alfred to quickly enter their car, they shaked Darwin good bye and hugged Medalyn, congratulating her, she smiled and they each entered their car and drove off, Darwin held Medalyns' hand, they looked at each other smiling then they started laughing
"Your friends are something else"
"Oh you can say that again" she said laughing as they walked to the house.
Darwin shot the room door behind them, he had been watching Medalyn as they walked upstairs to her room, she turned to him and chuckled
"Aren't you going to your room?" He walked closer to her and held her hand, they both just stared at each other without saying anything, then he finally broke the silence
"I promised to tell you something about myself today.... something you should know" Medalyn looked away
"You don't have to tell me if it isn't convenient for...." Darwin burst out laughing, Medalyn frowned and looked at him, he used his hand to signify he was sorry "I don't think what I said was funny....why're you laughing?" Darwin stopped laughing but kept a wide smile on his face
"Recently I've found you so...." He paused and just smiled
"So what?" Medalyn said keeping her serious face on
"Should we have some cake and wine before sleeping?" Medalyn looked away but then at him before walking out, Darwin ran to catch up with her

Darwin just watched as Medalyn drank from her wine, he chuckled, they were on the same couch but she sat at the edge
"My mum got injured at my fifth birthday...." Medalyn paused from drinking and looked at him, he just stared deep at her eyes that Medalyn didn't know if he was staring at her or something behind her "she got hit by a bullet.... on her knees...the sound of the gunshot is still in my memory..... that's why it's quite difficult to have parties in general.... especially on my birthday" Medalyn thought she could stay where she was but
"Darwin I didn't know" she said sadly, moving closer to him and held his hand, he looked at them and tightened his grip then smiled and looked at her
"It's okay.... you're the first person I'm telling this to... my friends think I have party phobia, no one would understand why I am mad at my mum....after all it was due to her injury that she stopped working...I too thought that untill she recovered and started bringing pregnancy for me to take care of....I was just ten when my mom who had not fully recovered brought in a child to add to us....I thought it was for different men.... begging in the market with deliberately sacked and haggered clothes was a part of me until I turned fourteen....I got attention and money from strangers because of my good looks..." Medalyn laughed slightly while Darwin just smiled at her "I also got gifts from girls in school which I shared with my baby siblings....but not until mum gave birth to Nathan and his twin I lived for all my siblings" tears dropped from Darwin's eyes
