Collywobbles
(n.) butterflies in stomach-Elora-
I stand, twirling my fingers as I wait.
People walk, some even rush past me and I try not to let it affect me that I'm standing on my own.
They were supposed to be here 20 minutes ago.
I'm scared that this was all some sort of sick joke and I wasn't actually invited to go shopping with them.
My eyes scan the crowd as I lean my back against the wall of one of the shops in the mall.
Elijah has hockey practice so he couldn't give me a lift. That also means I can't get a lift back if they don't turn up.
"Elora!"
My head snaps to the side, I don't think I've ever been more relieved to hear my name being called.
Marla tugs Danny along by the hand, rushing through the entrance and towards me.
Danny sits on the floor next to where I'm leaning against the wall and Marla places her hands on her knees, both breathing heavy.
"I'm so sorry we're late. You'll never believed what happened." Marla stands up straight, panting slightly, and places her hands on my shoulders.
"So basically right, we were on our way but stopped to get a drink in the shop." Danny taps my leg and holds up an Fanta lemon for me. "We got you a Fanta lemon because we didn't know what you like."
"Thank you." I smile down at Danny and she gives me a thumbs up.
"Anyways, so we're in the shop right and we're paying but then Danny's ex-boyfriend walks in." Marlas hands have left my shoulders and she's now moving them around furiously as she talks.
Danny stands up besides me and interrupts Marla. "But he's not on his own, no, he's with Katherine."
"That's the girl he cheated with." Marla cuts in.
"Then this bitch had the audacity to start an argument with me, saying I was staring at her man." Danny nods, eyes wide.
"So obviously we had to put her in her place."
"Obviously." Marla smiles and kisses me on the cheek.
"So anyways yeah that's why we're late." Danny taps my shoulder then Marla's grabbing both of our hands and pulling us into the first shop she sees.
"Let go shopping losers."
❤︎
"I think this would look cute on you." Marla hands me a bikini set and goes back to shuffling through the racks.
Danny looks over my shoulder, nods and agrees.
I look down at the bikini in my hands. It's one of those triangle ones, black and ties into a bow at the front.
It's pretty.
I'm not sure I can pull it off.
"I don't think I'd suit it." I give Marla a tight lipped smile as she narrows her eyes at me. "At least try it on a before making a judgement."
