"Ugh looks like a delphir breeding ground." Daliya's face is full of disgust.
Father darts a quick glance towards me and turns away searching for Lucian.
"He's up the dragon." I tell him without looking at his face.
The dragons roars more and wails in cries. I glance at Lucian and he has obliterated the dragon's head. Mayi and Laylea tearing apart it's neck.
I waste no other minute looking at anyone else. I will avenge. They didn't die for nothing. I plunge my sword into four more Delphirs before one of them knocks me down with its strong legs. It gets on top and raises it's claw.
It flies to the left clutching it's eye with the same claw that was about to end me. I don't have to look to know who was responsible for that. I take the sword and hit it's underbelly and pull it out. Once, twice , thrice. It falls.
The dragons have set fire to the entire area, covering the battle so much that I can't see well. Dusk has settled in and within a few minutes, it's going to be pitch black in this little valley.
The bigger Delphir has it's legs ripped off and backside burned. It lays with maroon blood running out of it's mouth.
More than half of the enemies have been cleared out.
"Tell me. Why? Just why, Gervic?" I hear Daliya's desperate voice a little far of my right.
"You're talking to the traitor?" My father's voice is so much deeper and grumpier than I remember.
"You need to end him, Daliya." I can hear the venom in his voice.
A small sound of sobbing and sniffling.
"You don't understand, Daliya. You are THE QUEEN. Everyone knows you and respects you. And who am I? Am I just worthless. You know I'm a better fighter than you. You are smart, sure. But I bet you didn't see this coming..." I peek my head through the roaring fires to take a look at the scene.
Ash and grey smudged on his face, red liquid running down from his forehead and a busted lip. Gervic's been through it.
"And don't even get me started on Seleya. She rejected ME. To go with you. You were a nobody, Lux. And she chose you. I think now you know that I'm not worthless. I'm not small. I can-" his sentence is cut off when he screeches in pain and pulls out an arrow from his bicep. Adonis strikes again. He steps out of the shadows, his hair fully down with an arm that looks broken.
"Go ahead. Say it. You were a coward to say anything to any of us. So you went and made a deal with the king of Delphirs to lure us in so you could kill us. But you didn't know that we had more than one dragon..." Adonis's eyes are a mix of fury, disappointment and sadness.
Gervic lets out a small laugh and someone far away, fighting lets out a death cry.
"King of Delphirs? You think this bugger of a creature knows how to communicate?" He pauses.
"I went to the king of dragons. Mighty Durias of the mountains. We passed through there and he didn't release them because that's too close to our land, so back up would come quick. But you managed to get here quick as well. Thanks to my nephew, I assume?"
"Wipe that smile off his face." My father orders at his dragon. Within one second it lets out it's firey breath on Gervic and he's not there anymore.
Daliya's shoulders dip and Zurko moves closer to her and holds her.
Adonis and I exchange looks. Torn and battered, the both of us are desperate to get this over with. He gives me a firm nod and sets off again.
When it's fully dark, there lies a full grown white dragon, dead. Countless Delphirs and Bàms and a large amount of soldiers dedicated to Gervic. The traitors who survived like Fiyara and Shelke are to be put behind bars. They fled the scene as soon as the Delphirs barged in. Because they were informed.
