Chaos and screams erupts as Val and I run towards the people. My force field takes another hit making me stumble, blood trickles out of my nose and I quickly wipe it away as Val helps me up.
This is the Asgardian refugee vessel Statesman! We are under assault, I repeat, we are under assault – The engines are dead, life support failing!
People followed behind us as we led them to the Commodore.
"Quick into the ship." Val yells as I stumbled again as my field takes another hit.
"Are you alright, Princess?" She asks in concern."Yeah. I'm fine." I breathed before turning to the people.
"Fill this to maximum capacity. Val you go with them, Korg can't defend them alone from any other unforseen circumstances." I instructed as I glanced back at the multitude that still remained, even though the Commodore is filled to capacity.
"What about you?" She asks. "It's my duty to defend Asgard, not run away like a coward."
"This is defending Asgard. The people of Asgard needs a protector and you are doing just that." I said, ignoring the tug in my head and stomach.
Requesting aid from any vessel within range…We are 22 jump points out of Asgard. Our crew is made up of Asgardian families, we have very few soldiers here! This is not a war craft, I repeat, this is not a war craft!
As if responding to the message, another blast hits my field, making a grunt escape my lips. "Go!"
She gives me a reluctant nod before entering the ship. She gives me a salute before the ship closed and took off into space.
I turned back to see people still hoarded together, resigning to their fate. Tears filled my eyes as I saw families hold each other one last time.
Come on Lis. There has to be something you can do. This can't just be it.
"My lady." Someone says making me look up to see one of the women pointing at something behind me.
I looked back and almost cried in temporary relief. I recognise this place, this is where it all started. It think I can see the broken debris of Mjolnir on the floor.
A lot is suddenly starting to make sense now.
"Everyone, into that portal. Now!" Loki's voice comes from the crowd and the people immediately adhered.
Loki grabbed my hand in his and I feel a rush of energy flow through me.
"I didn't know I could do this. But now that I know, it's like it was staring at me right in the face all along." I confessed."You're able to do more than that, you just have to believe in yourself." He responds with a smile. "I love you." He says quietly and I almost start crying.
"Don't say it like that."
"Like what?" He asks as he cups my face.
We managed to still keep the portal opened.
"Like it's the last time. Like it's goodbye. I don't want to say goodbye." I confessed as tears poured out without control.
"Hey, it's fine. It doesn't have to be goodbye but you and I know there is a very slim chance of that happening. And whatever happens, I just want you to know that I love you forever, in this life and whatever life is after." He says with so much love that I pulled him down for a very passionate kiss.
Don't worry, the field and the portal are still working fine.
I break the tear filled kiss, hugging Loki tightly, hearing his fast heartbeat as he held me to him. "I love you, Loki." I whispered back.
