((while the title says 'no love' I assure you it has romance))
You smiled as you opened the door to your absolute favorite coffee shop.
You loved that moment when you opened the door and the scent and clatter of fresh coffee and pastries wafted over you.
You walked past all the cozy booths and tables, your heart breaking a little when you saw the other couple sitting together.
It had almost become a joke for you.
You fall for some stupid pickup line, said by some stupid person, just to be left alone again.
So now you had made it a thing -no, a rule- A rule, a rule that you followed.
The rule was simple:
No love.
No love, ever.
No love, no matter what.
Because all love has done to you was disappoint, sadden, and break.
So now.
No more love.
As you moved up to the counter, you smiled at the employee that you had seen every single day you had come in.
And you came in every day.
Alby -the name you had learned from his name tag- smiled at you behind the counter.
"So, (Y/N)," He said, proving a point that you'd been in so much he now knew your name, "Your usual?"
You smiled sweetly.
"You know it. Black coffee, extra sugar, a mountain of whipped cream, and caramel!"
Alby's face contorted in mock disgust.
"Someday you're going to get sick."
You smiled wider.
"But not today!"
Alby rolled his eyes, turning to start making your drink, and you moved to stand by the waiting area for when it was done.
As you waited, you noticed a blond boy, about the same age as you.
He was sitting at one of the tables -and as you almost immediately noticed- Alone.
He was reading a book of some sort, his hair swept across his forehead.
He looked up, maybe sensing the fact you were staring straight at him.
His eyes locked onto yours, and he smiled slightly, lifting a hand in a sort of wave.
You blushed, but lifted a hand to wave back at him, a faint smile playing at your lips.
"(Y/N)! Your deathly coffee is waiting"
Alby's call interrupted what felt like the equivalent to a daydream.
You quickly turned away, taking your coffee from Alby, and leaving the shop.
You grimaced as you left, biting your lip.
No love.
No love.
No love.
The next day, you went back to the coffee shop, picking up your daily coffee.
With a pang, you realized the boy you had seen before wasn't there today.
Then you immediately criticized yourself.
