Tw for MINOR injury

It was your turn as a watch guard.

You walked through the heavy rain to the watchtower, the mud squelching under your feet, the rain already running into puddles.

You reached the watch tower at last, just standing under the overhang for a few minutes.

You wrung your hair out, before climbing up the slick ladder of the watchtower.

As you climbed you wondered who your partner would be for the night watch.

Your question was answered as soon as your head poked up through the trapdoor, realizing you were lucky that night.

"Hi Gally."

You said as you climbed up and onto the platform. Gally was standing in the corner, leaning against one of the poles holding up the roof of the watchtower. Gally shrugged, which you thought was supposed to be your greeting, because he didn't say anything else, just looked away.

Was it just you, or was he smiling slightly?

You turned away from your longlasting crush, and to the watchtowers look out.

The rain was blowing diagonally now, splattering onto the slick wood floor of the watchtower.

You walked to the side of the watchtower with a look out of one of the maze doorways.

Right on cue, the loud screechy, rumbling that signaled the maze starting to close.

You loved seeing it close, it was fascinating.

But it was barely in sight.

You clutched the slick surface of the knotted wood railing, leaning forward, trying to get a better view.

Your feet lifted up off your soles, and onto your toes, as you leaned forward, trying to get a better view.

You pushed out with your hands, thrusting your head out into the cold air.

The rain splashed small droplets across your face, and you smiled as the cold air and water pelted your face.

You closed your eyes, breathing in the fresh, sharp air.

You pushed off more, your feet lifting up and off the floor as you leaned out farther.

You teetered over the edge, and quickly set your feet back on the wooden floor.

Maybe a little too quickly.

Your left foot stepped onto the slick wet floor, and before your other foot could even hit the wooden floor, your left foot slipped out from under you, sending you tipping back over the edge.

You drew in a sharp breath as you clutched usually at the railing with both hands as you started to fall head first.

Your arms slipped uselessly off the railing, and you pinwheeled your arms and legs as you fell.

It happened too fast to let out a scream, or any noise at all.

The last thing you felt was the mud hitting your outstretched, flailing arms, then your head hit the mud, slightly harder than how mud should normally feel, and you blacked out.

You opened your eyes slightly, you were still on the muddy ground, the rain falling into your eyes, into your slack mouth, into your ears, and running down your cheeks and face.

Your arms were covered in cool cold mud.

You think that there's mud in your hair too, it feels crunchy and plastered. . .
