TW for injury

You're jostled and shoved from every side as the large group of people flood by, trying to find the room with the flat-trans.

You feel numb.

Newt wasn't with you.

The part that hurt almost as much as the fact you probably would never see Newt again, was that you had found a cure.

You had found a cure, only not being able to find Newt.

Minho had found it, and was now holding onto it.

As you hurriedly walked, a loud sound made you screech to a stop.

"Cshhhhh"

You quickly pull out the two-way radio out of your pocket.

Thomas said he would use it for good news.

And now he was using it.

You cross your fingers on one hand, as you clutch the radio in the other hand. Thomas's voice finnaily comes on.

"(Y/N)! I saw him!"

Your heart flutters at the thought of being with Newt again. Thomas continues.

"I tried to stop the van, but the guard wouldn't let me get out. Said it was too dangerous. Over."

You start to respond even as you start to push through the crowd, trying to get to Minho, who was up front leading everyone.

"On my way, over."

It was all you could do to keep the excitement out of your voice. On the other hand, Thomas's voice was laced with urgency now.

"Wa-chss (Y/N)!"

The connection was breaking.

"(Y/N)! There's Someth-Cshh! Chshhhh different!"

Panic and confusion filled your mind.

What was different?

"Thomas! The connection is breaking! I can't understand you!"

There was a slight pause.

"Jus-Cshhh know that -Cshhh not -Cshhh same!"

What wasn't the same?

You try to ask a question, but the connection has broken fully, and all you got back was static.

You finally make it to Minho, you grab his arm, and he turns.

"(Y/N)! What is it?"

You can no longer keep the worry and excitement out of your voice.

"Give me the cure!"

Minho pulls it out of his pocket.

"Why? Did Thomas find Newt?"

You just nod, taking the cure from his hand, and turn and push back through the mass of moving people.

Minho called after you.

"Remember, it makes the pain for him worse, before better!"

You run as fast as you can, clutching the cure tightly.

You almost made it out of the compound.

Almost.

As you passed a room, shouts came from it.

"Look!"

Footsteps followed the shouts, and you sped up.

Gunfire came from behind you, just as you ran out of the door.
