You stood holding onto the watchtower's railing, at the edge of the square platform.

You had just gotten back from a day of running, just in time for your turn on the watchtower. The days run had been just as unsuccessful as every other day of running.

You sigh slightly as you lean your elbow on the railing, propping your head up on your palm, as you watch the gray clouds drift across the pale blue sky.

You let your body relax, leaning deeper into the railing.

And then someone grabbed both your shoulders.

"Ah!"

You whip around, your heart speeding up.

The face that greets you is the smirking face of the head runner.

You glare at Minho, only half meaning the glare.

"What the shuck, Minho?"

Minho grinned.

"What? I just thought you looked so bored standing there!"

You roll your eyes.

"So what? So you decide to give me a heart attack?"

You and Minho stare at the other, before you both burst out laughing.

You could never stay mad at Minho for long, even if it was just a mock anger.

You had been friends for too long.

After you stopped laughing, you started to wonder why Minho was up here in the first place. You thought your watch partner was Newt.

"So, Minho, if you don't mind me asking, why are you up here?"

Minho leaned his back against the railing, the very image of nonchalance.

"No reason."

You almost start laughing again at Minho's horrible lie.

"Minho," You say, amusement evident in your voice. "No one chooses to be on watch tower duty."

Minho shrugged, bending his arms behind him to both hold on and lean on the railing, and now you realize he's trying to look innocent.

And failing.

"Well I guess I'm the first to choose to be on duty."

You fold your arms across your chest.

"Minho, you have the attention span of a toddler. It's uncommon -unheard of- for anyone to volunteer, but for you of all people? It's simply not possible."

Minho just shrugged again.

"Well, there's a first time for everything."

You moved so you were leaning against one of the poles that held up the roof, but were still facing Minho.

"Minho, if you don't tell me the real reason I will shucking push you off that railing you are so attached to."

You said it deadpan, but you could tell by Minho's face he knew you were joking.

Nonetheless, he did take a few steps away from the railing.

He now moved to stand next to you, and you countered by moving so that you were standing across from each other, facing the other.

Minho smiled slightly.

"I just," He looked at your face, searching for any sign of emotion, like he was trying to memorize every detail. Then the bittersweetness of the moment was gone, and Minho's smirk returned.
