You sit on one of the log stumps, watching the giant bonfire burn and crackle, with what must have been at least your fifth drink in your hand.

Gally's make-shift liquor wasn't. . .the best, which was good, you supposed, because that meant the few of you who did like it, got as much as you wanted.

You swallow another gulp of the liquid, smiling in pleasure as it burns your throat on the way down.

You liked bonfire nights.

They helped keep your mind off Thomas.

Except that was hard when he was walking right towards you, a smile on his face.

"Hey (Y/N)!"

You smile at him as he sits next to you.

"Hi Thomas. . ."

Your words melt together slightly, slurring slightly. Thomas glances down at the cup in your hands.

"How many of those have you had?"

You shrug.

"Maybe a few."

Thomas looks at you, a disbelieving look on his face.

"Mhm,"

He gently plucks the cup from your hand, placing it on a stump, out of reach.

"You're going to be done for now."

You reach in vain for the just out of reach cup.

"Aw, c'mon Thomas. . ."

You slur. Thomas shakes his head.

"Nope. You have had enough."

You smile loopily, slumping into Thomas.

"You're cute."

Thomas looks down at you.

"And you're drunk."

Your mind was feeling incredibly fuzzy.

"And you're cute."

Thomas smiled a little.

"Yeah, you already said that."

You leaned father into Thomas.

"Did I?"

"You did."

Instead of answering you stood up suddenly, pulling Thomas up with you.

"Thomas!"

Thomas stood up with you.

"What?"

He sounded genuinely worried, and you laughed.

"Let's dance!"

Thomas muttered something under his breath about now knowing if he liked, or disliked you being drunk, but allowed you to pull him to a relatively open area, where you began dancing.

Maybe it was the firelight illuminating half of Thomas's face.

Maybe it was the cool night air, the stars twinkling above.

Or, maybe it was the drunk haze you were in -You liked to think it was one of the previous answers- But something made you take Thomas's hand while he danced, causing him to stop dancing, and look into your eyes.

"Thomas?"

Thomas nodded, waiting.

"I like you."

When Thomas didn't answer, you explained.
