How am i supposed to feel like everything will be okay
When you try to suffocate what little is left of me?

----------------------------------------------

Xena's eyes fluttered open, and she immediately began surveying the area around her. She squinted in the harsh light as her eyes tried to adjust.

What the...?

Attempting to move, Xena quickly realized she was bond to a chair, her hands held together behind her back, but she couldn't tell with what.

She was in a brightly lit room, and if her memory served correctly, it was in the medical wing of the facility she and the others called home, which was on the complete opposite side of the building from where they had been fighting.

How did i..?

Vanitas stepped casually into her view, crossing his arms across his chest as an amused grin formed on his lips. His golden eyes gazed down upon her bound form, practically sparkling in dark mischief.

"Would you look at that- the princess is finally awake." He threw his voice sarcastically as he gestured his hand towards her.

She glared daggers at him, her lip turning up into a scowl.

Vanitas leaned his back against the wall and promptly propped his left foot onto the wall as well, crossing his arms firmly across his chest again as he decided to antagonize the girl a bit.

"What do you want, creep?" Xena growled back at him as she tried to fiddle around with whatever was keeping her hands bound, seeing if she could possibly manifest a little fire from her fingertips and burn her restraints off.

"You," He answered falsely, throwing up a hand and rolling his eyes at her question.

"I didn't capture you because i want to have my way with you, idiot." The raven-haired boy scoffed.

The faint sound of footsteps reached Xena's ears as she tried to burn off her restraints, but she soon realized that was useless as her finger grazed across the cold metal.

Handcuffs. Fucking bitch.

"You're not my type, anyway." Vanitas laughed darkly, examining his gloved finger nails as Xyla stepped into Xena's view, coming to a stop beside Vanitas.

"Why am i not surprised?" Xena casually asked as she stared past Xyla, her eyelids half open.

Xyla's usual snobby smirk was plastered on her face again, and she looked good as new.

"Vanitas knows healing spells, doesn't he?" Xena also added, but she spoke it as a statement.

"Wow, she's actually pretty sharp." Vanitas sent her a grin, but Xena couldn't determine if it was actually a compliment or more of his sarcasm.

"She'll be lower than nothing when i'm through with her." Xyla's eyes shot over to Vanitas, clearly annoyed by his comments.

"What's lower than nothing?" Xena asked as she raised an eyebrow, trying not to laugh.

Xyla huffed in response, that typical girly grunt that snobs do whenever they don't have a good rebuttal. Xena snorted at that, and then felt a searing burn spread across her arm a few seconds after.

She flinched but made no sound as Xyla continued to burn her skin, only able to use elements with the help of her keyblade.

She increased the intensity, trying to get some form of reaction from Xena, but only got a subtle wince in pain.

"Go guard the door." Xyla snapped in anger, directing it at Vanitas.

"Whatever, your highness." Vanitas responded sassily, waving a hand in the air as he turned his back to them and proceeded to go guard the entrance.

"I hope you realize, you're starting a war." Xena warned and then bit her lip, suppressing a scream as Xyla applied a small blizzard spell up her other arm.

"And it's a war i intend to win."
