Sweetly Broken

For a few seconds, i was paralyzed in shock, trying to analyze what i was seeing.

Trying to figure out why this would be happening, about what reason there could be behind it.

"R-Roxas..." His name slipped off my lips on accident, but thankfully it was too faint for him to hear it because of the distance between us.

My heart had sunk down to my feet by this point, and i could feel it pound throughout my entire body as my mind raced and a cold sweat began to spread across my skin.

This can't be real... This isn't happening...

My legs crumpled out from under me, and i came to a seated position on the floor with a ploop.

My heart was still trying to make sense of what was going on, but by now, my brain had understood perfectly.

As i could feel the cold sweat begin to fade and my anger rose, i steadily got back up to my feet, my body still trembling a little with emotion.

In an instant, i threw my hand out, sending a sharp shard of ice from it, and it landed exactly where i wanted it to.

The shard just grazed by him, snipping off a few strands of Roxas' golden locks, getting stuck firmly in the wall just a few centimeters from his head.

For the first few seconds, he proceeded to digest what had just happened, and once he'd come to the realization, i could visibly see every muscle in his entire body stiffen.

Slowly, he took his hand off of the wall, and turned his head back to look at me, his eyes widening and his mouth dropping open a tad as i came into his view.

I stood in place, my fists clenching so hard by my sides that i could feel my nails digging crescent-shaped holes into the skin of my palms, and the familiar burn of developing tears began to threaten to spill over.

"Xe-Xena," He muttered, stuttering immediately. His face had lost all color, and he now looked upon me like a ghost.

"Save it!" I yelled out as soon as i heard his voice, as i squeezed my eyes shut tight, trying to hold back the tears. Before i lost it, i quickly swiveled around and headed out the door, pushing it open and out of my way with such force that i even surprised myself.

As i quickly marched out of the diner, i could hear him calling after me, and the faint sound of his foot steps stumbling over the tile floors reached my ears.

Almost as if the world knew, the clouds had began to turn gray, and lightening lit up from a dark cloud in the distance as i quickly hustled my ass down the street as fast as my legs would carry me at this point.

"Xena- Xena, wait!" The door busted open behind me and the pitter-patter of his feet drew close, and i had the deepest urge to take off running, to just sprint as fast as i could and maybe i could out run it.

Outrun the pain i was feeling, outrun what i had just witnessed.

Instead, i took a sharp turn and jogged into a dark ally way, but he'd already seen where i'd gone, and i knew i wouldn't be able to escape this. His foot steps slowed behind me and i stood with my back to him, fists clenched by my sides again as my face was angled down at my feet, tears falling freely on my high-heels.

Cautiously, i saw his shadow close in behind me, and he came around to stand in front of me as i pressed my lips firmly together, trying to contain my sobs as the tears poured out.

He reached a hand out to rest on my shoulder but i slapped it away and took a step back away from him.

"Don't-touch-me, you scum!" I ground out between clenched teeth, sniffling a little.
