If your love is just a dream, don't wake me up. It's hard enough to face the world alone.

If your heart stops beating, God bless my soul. Dig this grave for two; i can't live without you. It's hard enough to face this world alone.

--------------------------------------

A little over two weeks had passed since the day of the big fight and my admission to the hospital, and i was finally being released. It felt as though it'd been a decade since i'd last been able to walk around freely for extended periods of time, and it was taking some getting used to, i'll admit.

Over the course of those two weeks, i slept majority of the time, and spent the rest of it listening to some of Ventus' corny jokes, Sora's hilarious pranks on Riku and Roxas in my absence, and spending some quiet time with the love of my life.

As my condition started to recover, my mindset followed suit. The intensity of my emotions and feelings had lessened significantly, thinking above a fifth grade level wasn't as challenging anymore, and i felt like i was finally beginning to settle back into who i really am; my true self.

As i had in the past, i began taking each day step-by-step, i remembered to always appreciate the little things; like Roxas, my friends, and how i was lucky to still be alive. Living starting to not look so impossible, and i became excited for the future.

My bones and battle wounds all healed up perfectly, although a few small, barely noticeable scars did still lay across a few random places of my body, but none of them were gigantic, and they'd always be reminders of my triumphs and victories, the things i've overcome.

I'd probably have to take Vitamin D supplements for the rest of my life, but that was no big deal and it wasn't in any way due to the fights i've endured, that's all hereditary- okay maybe it's from me being a vampire and not spending enough time in the blazing hot sun to get the stupid vitamin naturally, but you catch my drift.

The King and the others insisted on throwing me a welcome home party, and although i may not know details, i knew my friends- and that means the party was going to be pretty extreme, but no amount of my protesting would have swayed them, so i gave in instead.

Persistent little fuckers.

Regardless, i knew it was going to be loads of fun, so while they all set off to go gather the last remaining supplies and decorations, and then headed back to the base to set up for the party later tonight, Roxas had asked me to meet him for lunch.

He said that we hadn't actually ever gone on an official date, and he insisted that we do so ten-fold.

Being my usual mushy-when-it-comes-to-the-bae self, i happily agreed and asked where he'd wanted to go.

There was a pretty fancy diner in town not far from the base, and he'd said Sora and Riku were always telling them how good the Italian food they served there was, and seeing as how Roxas and I both absolutely loved Italian, it was an easy choice. He'd asked me to meet him there at 1:30 PM for lunch, and then we'd go walk around the streets and check out a few of the stores and shops while we waited for the others to finish readying for the party, which was to start at 5 PM.

The diner was actually incredibly close; so close that i decided i'd walk there. It was a good opportunity to stretch my legs and finally start getting myself some exercise. I was eager to start back training too, and i figured a walk would always be a pretty decent warm up.

Roxas had left early because he'd had an erin to run for the party, so we'd be getting there separately, which i was perfectly fine with because i could dress up really nice and then make his jaw drop when he saw me walk through the door.

So i took a quick shower after downing my vitamins, and picked out a fancy yet simple outfit. I decided on a pair of plain black jean-shorts and a thick-strapped tank top which had lace for the shoulders and the upper back, but turned to a soft leopard print cotton just above the bra line in the back and front, with my dark brown wedged-high heels.

My earrings were simple diamond stars that hung down, and i slipped on the ring Roxas had given me a few months back, which i didn't wear too often for fear of it breaking in a fight or scoffing it. It was a simple promise ring, but i could tell he'd spent a pretty penny on it, and i'd never want to take the chance of damaging anything Roxas has ever given me.

I figured he'd be happy to see me wear it for a little while.

As i finished up my hair and spritzed myself with my favorite perfume, i grabbed my keys to lock the door to our room and stuffed my phone in my pocket before embarking on my little mini adventure.

Heels probably weren't my brightest choice in attire considering the sidewalks were a little used, but it was nothing i couldn't handle, it just took some getting used to.

Pushing my ear buds into my ears, i tapped the shuffle button on my phone and started humming softly to the tunes as i walked, being sure to keep an eye on the street signs so i didn't pass it up and wind up lost.

Although it was a little on the warmer side today, the clouds were spread out beautifully across the sky, almost like when you slowly pull apart a big chunk of cotton candy and a bunch of little fluff and wisps part in the process.

So the sky was basically white cotton candy. I wonder what flavor that would be?

My stomach decided to growl in protest as my mind danced around the idea of what the hell kind of flavor would they make white cotton candy. By this time, i was definitely ready for some good food. And maybe a piece of cake.

As the stop light turned red for the on-coming cars to come to a halt, i jogged my way across the cross-walk, and i could see the diner's sign from down the street.

Once i'd gotten close, i wrapped my ear buds around my phone and shoved it back into the pocket of my shorts, and i then gave myself a quick look-over, checking for any random nature particles that may have decided to fly into my hair or on my clothes, and after it all seemed clear, i reached for the doorknob and proceeded inside.

It was a fancier diner than most, and it was a pretty decent size, but it was empty for the most part considering it was 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and most people were still seated in their church.

Gazing around the place, i searched for that familiar fluff of spiky gold hair, and when i finally spotted it, my heart sank.
