3rd POV
"Woah!"
Akemi perks up at the sudden yelp and turns around to see the commotion.
"Hm? What is it?" She asks, looking over to a boy around the same age as her.
He stuttered, unsure of what to make of what was before him. "That... T-That thing over there! That's a slime, right???"
The new 14-year-old looked to where he was pointing, expecting to see what could be a hostile enemy like a mitachurl or a stray ruin guard. Yet, all she saw was a green round jelly like creature, who quickly hid within the grass when caught. "...Yeah, that's a slime. I thought you'd at least know what that was." Akemi looked over to her comrade, very unimpressed.
It was certainly hostile, but it could barely do anything to anyone.
Though, when the slime caught sight of them staring, it seemingly panicked before Digging into the ground, the only thing showing was its stem on its head.
"Ooooh." He stared back in fascination at its actions, contemplating what to do before turning to Akemi. "Should I touch it?"
The girl in question tilts her head. Honestly, it wouldn't be a good idea as they would jump at people. With this intelligent but oblivious being next to her, she wouldn't be surprised to see a slime manhandle him to the ground.
In fact, Akemi found that rather funny. "Pfft-" But still. Akemi cleared her throat. "Probably not..."
His face shifts into a sad one. Akemi panicked, a crooked smile on her face forms as her hands waved around in a frenzy. "But I do it all the time! Here, let me pick one up for you!"
Her eyes dart towards the dendro slime as she runs over to it, a determined expression on her face. When standing directly in front of it, she stares at it for a few seconds before rummaging through her pocket, pulling out a mist flower.
The irresistible smell of the mist flower convinced the dendro slime to peek out from the ground, coaxing it into jumping into Akemi's arm comfortably as she held them out. She hums in acceptance and turns around to approach her friend. "Here ****! Feel how squishy it is!" She exclaimed, holding the now not-so-hostile slime out to him.
His eyes sparkled in excitement, being so close to something like this made him very happy and was evident in his expression. He held his hands out, and the moment he touched it his eyes. brightened in delight. The dendro slime was soft, but firm. It had a smooth texture and was also very jiggly.
"Soooo?" Akemi waited for a review of the creature.
He sighs in awe and nod in approval of her commentary. "It's squishy..." He says, a smile formed on his face.
She smiles back. "Right!?"
Once done with their antics, Akemi drops the slime and hands it the mist flower, waving it off, letting it merrily hop its way to its new destination. She hums, a sigh of relief escaping her as she went to lay down on the soft grass. Despite everything that happened, Akemi felt truly content with this week's past events. And so, now she took the moment to gaze up as the clouds, trying to figure out what they looked like.
While she does so, the male looked at her, a slight nerve shivering down his spine. His lips pursed, his eyes softened, his beautiful purple hair overshadowed his expression full of utter guilt. He couldn't help but wonder how a person could be so carefree. Shouldn't she be scared? Worried? Regretful? Or maybe angry.
Angry at who though? He had no idea. Maybe himself?
