3rd POV
"Hey... So where exactly are we going?" The mage quietly asks, her hand wrapping around Aether hair as she then tugs on it to gain his attention.
The question was never answered, as Paimon covered Akemi's mouth in a hurried manner. "Shhh!" She puffs her cheeks, and quickly looks around for anyone who could've heard. "We need to be quiet! Or we might get arrested."
Hearing this, Akemi tensed up, staring at Paimon in bewilderment. "A-arrested?? Why would we get arrested???" She asks, anxiety slowly building up within her as she struggles to understand the situation.
Aether groaned softly, his eyebrow twitching in irritation as he looked towards Paimon. "We never told her that..."
"Oh, right..." Paimon realized with a sheepish smile and slight blush upon her cheeks.
"I swear, I'm going to cook you one of these days..." Aether grumbled to himself, his tone laced with slight annoyance and amusement towards his companion.
To speed up the process, Aether grabs Akemi by the wrist and motions for Paimon to follow as they tried to catch up to Sayu, who was helping them make their way to the Komori Teahouse.
Thankfully, they made it to their destination, despite the commotion made along the way, and the many guards which had surrounded Inazuma city. Even when they entered the place however, Akemi was still asking questions about the current situation.
"Why are we being arrested? Where are we right now? Are we gonna get executed if we get arrested???" The questions continued until someone heard the commotion.
"Akemi? Aether? Paimon? Is that you?" A voice called out from the other room.
"Yeah, it's just us Thoma!" Aether quickly responded, walking towards the voice into one of the rooms in the back.
As Akemi enters the room she was greeted with the sight of a man with green eyes and mainly red clothing. He had a kind expression on his face and had a pyro vision hanging around his waist.
Thoma approached Aether and Paimon with an eager expression, the atmosphere around them rife with tension and anticipation.
"Did you meet with the resistance? How's the battle going? Is it safe for me to come out yet?"
Paimon responded quietly, her voice almost a whisper. "Not just yet. We saw guards patrolling on the way here."
Thoma's delighted expression instantly crumbled when he heard the news, and he heaved a heavy sigh, a gesture showcasing his disappointment and frustration. "So it's not over... I guess you came here because you have something to discuss." He uttered somberly, acknowledging the ongoing struggle.
"I'll get someone to call for Miss Kamisato, bear with me for a second." he stated as he retreated from the room in search of the other party.
After some time had passed, Ayaka finally arrived, and Aether proceeded to give her a brief overview of the situation, keeping some finer details to himself. Though he explained that Akemi seemed to have little to no recollection of the events, which was cause for concern. Akemi remained silent and quiet as she listened closely, hoping to gain some semblance of understanding about the situation.
"I understand. You require evidence of the Tenryou Commission's betrayal," said Ayaka, her voice calm and measured as she addressed the request. "Let me think."
Silence settled across the room as the parties involved allowed her to contemplate their request, awaiting her response. Akemi found herself impatient during the prolonged quietness, her unease growing as the tense silence continued with no sign of a prompt response.
