3rd POV

The midday sun shone brightly over Watatsumi Island, its light filtering through the lush trees and casting dappled shadows on the ground. The gentle sounds of the ocean waves lapping against the shore created a soothing symphony, blending harmoniously with the rustling leaves and distant calls of seabirds. Amidst this peaceful setting, Kokomi stood in her usual spot, a thoughtful expression on her face as she spoke with Gorou.

"How is everyone recovering, Gorou?" Kokomi asked, her voice calm and composed as always, though a hint of concern lingered in her eyes.

Gorou, standing at attention beside her, responded with a reassuring smile. "Everyone is doing well, General Kokomi. The soldiers are recovering nicely, and morale is high."

She sighed in relief, her shoulders relaxing slightly. "I'm glad to hear that." She fell silent, her gaze drifting to the horizon as she sank into deep thought.

General Gorou, noticing the change in her demeanor, furrowed his brow in concern. "Is something wrong, General?" he asked gently.

Kokomi was about to respond, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "No... It's just..." But before she could finish her sentence, a loud scream pierced the tranquil air.

"KOKOMIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!"

Both Kokomi and Gorou were thrown off guard by the sudden outburst. They turned around quickly, just in time to see Akemi racing towards them at full speed.

"Ah-! Akemi, slow down!" Kokomi called out, but it was too late.

Akemi dove into Kokomi's arms, wrapping her in a tight, affectionate hug. Kokomi, though surprised, returned the embrace warmly.

"Akemi!" Kokomi exclaimed, her voice filled with surprise and delight. "It's good to see you."

Akemi pulled away from Kokomi, her face beaming with joy, and then turned to Gorou. "YOU TOO, GOROU!" she exclaimed, launching herself at him and hugging him tightly. Gorou, caught off guard, felt like he was suffocating but still gently patted her back in return.

"Hey, Akemi," Gorou managed to say, his voice muffled by Akemi's enthusiastic embrace. "It's good to see you too."

Kokomi, her curiosity piqued, asked, "Akemi, are you okay? Are you still recovering?"

Akemi stepped back, her eyes bright with excitement. Seeing the Vision on Akemi's waist, Kokomi already knew the answer. "I see you've regained your memories."

Akemi nodded vigorously. "Yes, I have! My memories are still a bit blurry, but I remembered talking to you, Kokomi. You asked me to return here when my memories came back, so I made sure to come as soon as possible!"

Kokomi smiled warmly. "I'm glad you did, Akemi. It's wonderful to see you so full of energy."

They talked for a while, catching up and sharing news. The conversation flowed easily, the bond between them evident in their smiles and laughter. After a few moments, Kokomi turned to Gorou with a thoughtful expression.

"Gorou, I need to take Akemi to 'that place.' Can you check on the resistance soldiers while I'm gone?" she asked.

Gorou nodded, understanding the importance of Kokomi's request. "Of course, General. I'll make sure everything is in order." With a final wave, he headed off towards the training grounds.

Kokomi turned to Akemi and gestured for her to follow. "Come with me, Akemi. There's something I want to show you."

Curiosity piqued, Akemi followed Kokomi as they walked through the village and into the surrounding forest. The path wound through dense foliage, the sunlight filtering through the canopy above. The journey took a while, but Akemi didn't mind. She was happy to be with Kokomi and eager to see where they were going.
