3rd POV
'AUUUGHHHH MY BODY HURTS SO BAD RIGHT NOW!!!'
Akemi woke up in pain, with every muscle in her body screaming in protest as she awoke, begging for her to go back to sleep. The poor mage felt as if she had been trampled by a sumpter beast.
The dim light seeped through the cracks in the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Akemi attempted to stretch, hoping to alleviate some of the soreness in her body, but her body hits something soft and warm instead
It was Paimon, still blissfully asleep and nestling by Akemi's side despite her restless movement. The pyro user then glanced over her, noticing Aether sleeping just as peacefully, his rhythmic breathing, a soothing contrast compared to the aching pain in Akemi's limbs.
Akemi laid there in bed a little longer, contemplating if she should allow their comforting presence to lull her back to sleep. But knew she needed to rise and start her day.
With her vision back, Akemi finally remembered everything, though it was still blurry. And already, she began making a list of things that immediately needed to be done now that the vision hunt decree has been abolished.
And so, with a quiet sigh, Akemi gently snuck herself out from the tangled blankets, careful not to disturb Paimon or Aether. She lets out a quiet yawn, wincing as she slowly made her way to her own bedroom, the pain being a constant reminder of Akemi's recent battle.
As Akemi entered her bedroom, she noticed that it was almost completely cleaned. She stared at the sight in surprise, her eyes wide as she looked around the pristine and organised room.
"God... Maybe I should put myself in dangerous situations even more often..." The girl thought aloud, relief washed over her as she was glad she didn't have to tackle her mess of a bedroom herself. She made a mental note to thank Aether and Paimon later.
Approaching the nearby mirror, Akemi soon caught sight of her face. On the left side of her face was now a purple lightning scar around her eye. 'Damn it, the stupid scar is back!' Her eyes narrowed at the sight of it.
Surprisingly, Akemi wasn't too panicked about the injury, but had quietly groaned in annoyance at the fact that it had returned once again. At this rate, Akemi was fully aware that it would take a while before it would disappear again- at least a month or so, based on the past experiences.
Her attention was then drawn to the set of clothing that she was currently wearing. They were undeniably cute, and she couldn't help but gush over them for a few seconds, adoring the beautiful blue colour along with the pink sakura flowers on the sleeves. However, despite its cuteness, she couldn't help but sigh. "It's a shame... blue doesn't match with my eyes."
Akemi made her way to her bed and sat down, sinking into deep thought. Everything was still a blur, but the key moments stood out clearly in her mind.
She remembered interacting with Kokomi a few times, her tactical advice and gentle demeanour providing a brief respite from the chaos. Akemi chuckled softly as she recalled screaming in fear at the sight of a Lawachurl and calling a Hilichurl's appearance offensive. Those moments of levity contrasted sharply with the discovery of a secret underground base constructed by the Fatui, a testament to their ever-looming threat.
Her thoughts then drifted to Ayaka, whose grace and strength had been both a comfort and an inspiration. But the most vivid memory was the battle with the Raiden Shogun. The intensity of the fight, the clash of wills, and the sheer power displayed were unlike anything Akemi had ever experienced. She felt a swell of pride. She had stood her ground against the Raiden Shogun and lived to tell the tale. It was a testament to her resilience and strength.
