3rd POV
Akemi was tired.
After waking up in the middle of the night the day before, Akemi felt as if she lost the ability to have complete 8-hour nap without being awoken. She wasn't sure what the problem was, but she didn't want to bother Aether or Paimon with it when they were so stressed over the events that will occur today.
The trio made their way to the Narukami Shrine, ready to present the evidence to Kujou Sara. The journey upstairs was a tiring one, and they were all out of breath by the time they reached the top of the stairs leading to the shrine.
"Ah... why can't we have magical walking stairs??" The girl complained, resting against Aether who was much more composed than her.
As they finally reach the shrine, Yae Miko and Kujou Sara were busy conversing with each other. The two seemed to be in the midst of a contentious encounter, their expressions filled with distrust and hostility.
As the trio arrives, Kujou Sara sharply looks in their direction. "Well? Where is your proof?" she asks, the challenge in her tone and the glint in her eyes indicating that she is not taking this matter lightly.
Akemi's attention is torn between the two ladies in front of her. The names Yae Miko and Kujou Sara are still unfamiliar to her. She tries to figure out which one is who based on their looks and demeanor. "So, which one is Yae Miko and Kujou Sara?" she questions, scratching her head in confusion. "The pink-haired one looks like a Yae," she adds, trying to decide.
"The evidence is here." Aether confidently states as he approaches the two women, holding the papers.
The mention of the color pink finally triggers Akemi to realize which one is the proper name, and she nods triumphantly to herself, feeling proud that she has figured it out. "Yeah, that pink one is definitely Yae because it sounds like 'yay!' and pink is a very 'yay' color!" she declares to herself, her expression filled with satisfaction.
Paimon in return could only give Akemi a side eye, as if telling her that now isn't the right time to be playing guessing games with herself in such a tense atmosphere.
The general Kujou Sara turns to the trio with a stern look, her expression rife with serious intent and purpose. On the other hand, Yae Miko speaks with a warm smile, providing a marked contrast to the others.
The different in disposition between the two is clear. "Ah, how wonderful. Everyone is keeping their promise today," says Yae, her tone conveying her joy and happiness at seeing the three present.
Paimon speaks proudly, her hands on her hips in victory, as the general Kujou Sara takes the evidence. She declares triumphantly, "Ha! You wouldn't believe the things we had to do to get our hands on this stuff!"
"And I'd rather her not know," Aether responses softly, his comment catching everyone by surprise as it was not intended to be heard. The general turns her gaze towards him, seeming to want to know what was going on that he had insisted must remain a secret.
As Kujou takes the envelope from Aether, her expression shifts from one of suspicion to one of genuine concern. "What is this?" she asks, her eyebrow raised in suspicion as she examines the seal on the envelope. After a brief moment, her suspicion is replaced with consideration, and she admits, "I see that this document bears the official seal of the head of the Kujou clan, and it doesn't look like forgery..."
Kujou Sara carefully opened the sealed envelope, and her eyes quickly scanned through the contents of the letter. However, instead of finding what she expected, her heart began to sink as she read through the letter. "I don't understand. Not a single word about the resistance, Saginomiya, or the situation on the front line..." she states, seeming thoroughly confused by what she read.
