[ From this point on, the story will follow the extended versions of each movie, as my app has decided to reject playing the 'original' movies, so I paid for the extended ones. For more clarification, I'm watching the movies as I write because no way can I remember all the spoken lines. Most dialogue spoken is from the actual movies, and if you haven't watched the extended versions, they basically include a bit more context. (Why'd they drop most of the Legolas clips? Like bro-)

Also, don't be alarmed if previous chapters update, I'm just adding in some of the extended scenes that didn't make the final cut.]

We had made our way down the mountain to where the hidden entrance of Moria was. Climbing over the last few rocks, we saw it. "The walls of Moria!" Gimli gasped and we all looked up to face the towering city.

"Dwarf doors are invisible when closed." The small dwarf stated as I walked behind him, admiring the vast rocky walls. "Yes Gimli, their own masters cannot find them if their secrets are forgotten." Gandalf said with a raised voice, almost mocking the dwarf. "Why doesn't that surprise me?" Legolas snickered as Gimli frowned.

We continued our walk until Gandalf stopped and began admiring the wall. There was a small body of water next to us, and I could tell something dark lurked within. "Well, let's see... Ithildin... It mirrors only starlight and moonlight." Gandalf whispered as he ran his fingers over the engraved markings. I watched, intrigued, as the moon shone and patterns and writing began to shine on the wall to form a door.

"It reads 'The Doors of Durin, Lord of Moria. Speak, friend, and enter.'" Gandalf translated. "What do you suppose that means?" Merry piped up. "Oh, it's quite simple. If you are a friend, you speak the password, and the doors will open." He replied, confidently, though I had my doubts.

Gandalf began chanting elvish, in hopes the doors would open. That was until there was no response."Nothing happening." Pippin stated, making Gandalf second-guess himself as he began pushing his weight on the stone. "I once new every spell in all the tongues of Elves, Men, and Orcs." He disappointingly whispered. "What are you going to do, then?" Pippin asked him. "Knock your head against these doors, Peregrin Took! And if that does not shatter them and I am allowed a little peace from foolish questions, I will try to find the opening words." Pippin stared dead-eyes at the Wizard, quickly shutting up. I laughed at his reaction.

It was a little while later and I could still hear Gandalf muttering elvish and dwarvish, in hopes something would budge open the doors. I watched as Bill, the pony, was let off by Aragorn and Sam for safety. My peace was disturbed as the surface of water was broken. Merry and Pippin had began to throw rocks into the water to feed their boredom. "Do not disturb the water." Aragorn warned them, watching the lake cautiously.

The water had began rippling unnaturally. Something was definitely in there, and Pippin may have just disturbed its' sleep. I was so focused on the water that I didn't notice that Frodo had uncovered the answer to the door engravings. "Whats the elvish word for 'friend'?" "Mellon." Gandalf replied to him.

The doors suddenly opened and everyone began making their way in. "Soon, Master Elf, you will enjoy the fabled hospitality of the Dwarves. Roaring fires, malt beer, ripe meat off the bone." Gimli proudly spoke, talking to Legolas, who just rolled his eyes. "This, my friend, is the home of my cousin Balin, and they call it a mine. A mine!" He shouted. I had heard that Balin was one of the dwarves that accompanied Thorin Oakenshield on his quest to reclaim Erebor.
