Tom was playing Pokémon scarlet on the living room tv in his apartment.  He hadn't completed the main story and the DLC dropped in a week. 
Tord walked in and spotted the Brit riding a red bike dragon all across the land of Pokémon. 
"What ya doing?" Tord said walking up behind him.
Tom jumped and looked around.
"Oh uh Pokémon."
Tord laughed.
"Adults play Pokémon too bitch." Tom retorted.
Tord sat down and stared at the screen.  Tom had given up leveling up a team and just transferred the one he had from shield. 
"Cheater." Tord laughed when he saw the Pokémon's levels.
"Shut up the DLC comes out next week.  I'm trying I've already completed violet."
Tord noticed his male acquaintance had an odd looking gardivior on his team.
"What's that?" Tord asked.
It was a shiny iron valiant from his violet play through.  Undoubtedly one of the strongest new Pokémon in the game.
"Iron valiant.  It's a combination of gardivior and galade."
"My horny ass could not be a Pokémon trainer." Tord laughed.
Tom made a laughing noise but didn't know if he was serious or not.
By the time Tom reached the elite four it was 10 pm and he wanted to sleep.
"Can I finish your game?" Tord asked.
"Sure just don't fuck up anything."
Tom handed Tord the controllers and went to his room. 
He had looked up the question answers on the internet and passed the first two leaders without any question, but the third walked out and Tom could hear from his room:
"OMG IT'S LARRY!" Tom started laughing uncontrollably.
Larry was by far his favorite character.  Larry was everyone's favorite and it made the play back worth it.
Tord evidently knew who Larry was, but hadn't played the game which was indeed suspicious.  Tom walked out and decided to surprise Tord like he did to him.
"So you know Larry?" Tom asked as Tord stared at the flying types.
"Also use electric types."
Tord tilted his head.
Tom laughed a bit and pointed to the yellow sheep looking Pokémon on his team.
"That one"
After Tord "helped" in beating the elite 4 he handed the controller back to Tom.
"I don't understand these games Thomas.  Welp I'm going to go play stardew valley."
Tom huffed.
"Can I play with you?" Tom asked smiling.
Tord smiled back.
"If you've got $14 and an afternoon."
Tom got up and started downloading it to his laptop.
Tord started up a new farm and started working on clearing out the place.
It was a fun afternoon and Tom even danced with Tord at the flower dance.  Tord absolutely dominated over the egg hunt though.
By the end of the night both men were tired and reflecting of the day they had. 
"That was fun.  Let's do it again sometime.  Well when you're back from your army stuff." Tom said.
Tord smiled.
"It's a date then." Tord said smiling.
Tom blushed but stayed quiet. 
This was gonna be the start of a lovely relationship.
