Alessandro pov:

"OK, bunny, here is the plan. The Somalis are coming on Thursday around midday. They have rifles and two military grenades. The leader himself will make the delivery. How did you manage that? We are bound to be enemies because we are the number one mafia and they are number two." Carlo tells me.

"One, don't call me Bunny. Second, the leader owes me. His daughter was trafficked when she was younger. I got her out. The man really owes me more, and I will collect later". I say this as I lean back in my chair and drink a shot of whisky.

"There's still one area of the plan that's not finalised yet, boss. You said Y/N needed to be out of the house and when I asked her if she had any plans for Thursday she said no."

"Yes, I still have to do it, but I can't think of a good lie."

"You don't have to lie. Just tell her the drop will be here and you want her to be safe."

"You see, that is the problem. I promised her I wouldn't do drops in the house anymore, so she'll have to be out, but don't worry, I know what I'm doing. She will be out of the house for hours." I say while finishing the glass and refilling it.

Thursday morning at 10:30

Y/N pov:

I was watching videos on my phone when Alessandro came into our room.
"Cara mia What are you doing lying on the floor when our bed is sitting right next to you?" He picks me up and puts my phone on our bed.
"Oh, nothing much; I was just watching videos on heatless curls; they are very interesting. This one I was watching used socks, and I was like, Whatttt?"

I went on a ramble about heatless curls while Alessandro just looked at me with the most genuine expression ever.
"And so I am thinking of trying the belt one first; it looks the most promising. Oh my god, I am sorry I didn't mean to talk for this long." I say while quickly running out of breath.
"Cara mia, I could listen to you for hours," he says as a light blush appears on my cheeks and I tilt my head down.
"Amore, right now is not the time to get all shy; now I hear that you haven't found a dress for the gala yet. Now, I know that is still a long way away, but you might as well keep looking, as it took you three weeks last time. And I think you need a shopping day with my card as my way of saying sorry for not spending enough time with you recently," I say, hoping she says that it is a great idea.
"I would love to go shopping." Oh, thank God.
"But do the bodyguards have to be with me, nearly breathing down my neck?"
"Baby, you know they have to be there, but I will tell them to stay away. You won't even know they are there."
Ok, then I will get ready to go. I giggle and make my way to the bathroom.

Three hours later at the shopping street

It was so nice of Alessandro to allow me to go out without the bodyguard so close to me. That isn't normally like him. Ever since the whole Damien thing, they never left my side, and they were always the unfriendly ones too.
I am right now walking to Chanel to find a dress after getting a nice pair of heels. The street is quiet, and not many people are around. As I am walking past an alleyway, I feel someone pulling my hair into the alleyway.
Hey, what the hell?" I say. I then feel someone punch me in the face, and I stumble backwards.
"You tell Mr. Ferraro that this is what he gets for turning us down, one of the men said before giving me another punch and walking away.
A white pain shoots through me. My head feels light, and my eyes give in and close.

10 min later at the mansion

Alessandro pov:

Well, that drop-off went as smoothly as a drop-off can go. Y/N is still shopping, so maybe she found something. I was walking to my office to finish something when my phone rang.
Hello," I said into the phone.
"Hello boss," says one of the bodyguards for Y/N. "We have a problem with Y/N. My heart stops.
What's wrong? I nearly screamed down the phone.
"We were following her and staying away like you said when we saw her get pulled into an alleyway. We rushed over to see what was happening, and we found her lying on the ground with a bloody nose, mouth and a bruised cheek."
"Your job was to make sure this didn't happen. That's what I paid you to do, and you failed.'
"I understand, boss. We are in the car now, driving back. We are around 13 minutes out."
"Drive faster." I told them and hung up.
I feel so guilty, which is a rare feeling for me. I let Y/N out of the house without the proper protection instead of actually telling her the truth. Now she is injured, and I also have to tell her about the Somali drop.
I hear the car pulling into the driveway, and I rush out. I see the guards getting out looking very guilty, which they should, and then I see Y/N getting out. They didn't even open the door for her. How rude.
"Careful there, Princess," I say before lifting her into my arms, bridal style.
"You two drive home and wait for my call," I say to the men standing around the car.
I carry Y/N up the stairs into our bedroom and onto our bed.

30 minutes later

The doctor was checking up on Y/N, and I just needed to get my anger out, so I went to the shooting range. I was just about to practice close-up shooting when I got a call from the doctor to come and see Y/N. As I walk in, I see Y/N lying down on her side in the bed.

"Oh Bella, I say, kneeling down next to her. "I am so sorry," I say.

"Don't be sorry; it wasn't your fault."

"I have to tell you something; please don't leave me." I pray to every god I know.

"Whatever you tell me, you know I will always love you.

This girl is too sweet for this world.
