Y/N hasn't spoken to her mum for four years. Her mother and she never really got along, and after her mother's divorce from her father, they've had a falling out over where Y/N's loyalties lie. With her or with Alessandro. Y/N has seen her maybe twice since then. She lives in Colombia.

Alessandro Pov:

Today was a calm day. Nothing crazy, just smooth sailing. I was in my office when I got a phone call.

"Hello, Alessandro speaking".

"Hello boss, we have a woman down here who claims to know you and Y/N. She says her name is Ms Y/L/N."

This is Y/N's mother, I haven't seen her for ages and for good reason, she doesn't like me at all. Her father was the same at first, but he warmed up to me, but her mother never did.

"Take her to conference room 3," I say into the phone and hang up. This could get ugly.

I walk down the hallway to meeting room three and see Y/N's mother standing in the middle.

"Oh, hello, Mr. Ferrano. Where is my daughter?" She says as soon as I open the door.

"Hello, Ms. Y/L/N. Your daughter is busy. What are you doing here?"

"I came to see my daughter. The sooner she sees me, the sooner I am gone."

I say to one of the guards, "Go get Y/N and bring her here, please."

We just stood there in silence. Until we hear the door open again.

"Hey Bear, why did you?" she spots her mother, "can you give us a minute?"

I quickly leave the room, even though it would be the best reality TV show ever.

Y/N pov:

As soon as Alessandro leaves the room, I start to say something to my mother, but as usual, she speaks first.

"You must give me a proper tour of your city sometime, perhaps in spring or summer, or sometime when it is warmer."

"Where are your protection agents? They've usually have given themselves up by now." I say, completely ignoring what she has just said.

"No one knows I am in the country."

"That's impossible, Mum; you work for the Colombian drug cartel."

"Y/N, everything is only difficult, never impossible."

"That makes this officially the stupidest thing you've ever done, which is saying something."

"What are you doing here?"

"My daughter has not made any effort to visit me for the last 4 years, so I must go to her."

"Y/N, I'm here for you."

"How long have you been here?"

"I arrived this morning."

"What if someone saw you?"

"In your house?"

"At all. Surely you still have enemies who want you dead."

She says nothing.

"You could have called."

"I didn't want to be refused."

"There is no other reason for your visit," I say, not really believing her.

"I promise you, my intentions are honourable. No one knows I am here."

"Now I have answered all your questions. My turn."

She points to my left hand with my engagement ring on it.

"When is the wedding?"

"Mum, you didn't come here to talk about my wedding, so let's not."

"I just want to know when my daughter is getting married, that's all. Is Alessandro the right man for you? Are you even ready to get married?"

"I am happy with Alessandro. And whether or not I am ready is none of your business."

"I just worry about you, Y/N. I want what's best for my daughter."

"When did you ever care before? I remember you telling me I was a monster, and now you want to help me. My life is my own. And right now, life does not include you."

"I understand. I will leave you alone now. Just know that I still love you, no matter what."

She gets up to leave, and I watch her walk out of the room, wondering if I'll ever see her again.
