The sound of clicking heels echoes through the corridor as Astoria and I enter the party.
"I can't believe we're going to another gala; I feel like I'm always dressed up," I say.
"I don't know about you, but Carlo and I couldn't get out of bed." Astoria says
"Me too; I was so tired that Alessandro had to drag me."
"So tired from what?" she asks.
"Stop," I say, pushing her slightly and covering my face with my hands.
"Do you think Abigail is still in the picture for Russo? I heard what she said to you, and someone told me she hasn't been in the house since."
"Ohhh, drama," I say dramatically. "I guess we'll have to find out."
We walk into the hall filled with people we have never seen before, and as I look around trying to find the gang, it takes me a while to spot Russo.
"Oh, there's Russo, and would you look at that, no Abigail?" I say, giggling.
"I don't think anyone liked her."
"Facts," I say as we approach the gang.
"Hey guys, oh Russo, it looks like you lost a crazy girl," Astoria said as she walked over to Carlo and put her arm around him.
I did the same to Alessandro, as Russo said, "Yeah, that chick, who would have thought?"
"I did," I said.
"Me too," Alessandro replied.
"Me three," said Carlo, "and me four," added Astoria.
"I feel like I'm being picked on here," Russo complains.
"Yes, obviously we need a bit of entertainment," laughs Carlo.
"Does anyone actually think Uncle Danny is dead or what?" asks Russo.
We all shake your heads.
"I'm sure he's in some Scandinavian country with some blondes girls," I say, making them all laugh.
"They're 25 at the most," Alessandro adds, and we all shake our heads and walk away.
"When does this thing end?" I asked Alessandro.
"I don't know, Princess; Uncle Danny's latest fling is running it, and I think the more she pretends to care about him, the more money she gets."
"If I have to listen to a story about how people used to be best friends with him, I might scream."
"I didn't think you had any screaming left in you after last night and this morning," he says, his fingers finding their way to my waist, sliding up and down.
"Yeah, thanks for that. I took a lot of painkillers and did a lot of yoga this afternoon just so I wouldn't limp."
"You're very welcome," he replies, giving me a kiss on the lips.
"I'll get us some drinks; just stay here," and with that, he is gone.
I breathe a sigh of relief until I hear someone calling my name.
"Y/N, is that you? Oh my God, you have grown so much. You probably don't remember me, but me and Uncle Danny were really close and I met you when you were three,' the woman says.
Here we go again.
-Time skip-
Half an hour later
"And that was when me and Uncle Danny went to Bora Bora," the lady finally explains.
"That sounds great. I just need to duck into the ladies' room; I'll be right back,' I say, walking away before she can start another painfully awful story.
